Unless you work super short hours, I would not recommend any kind of dining room chair. I find that I sit too low and my hips tilt slightly back, a very bad posture if you're working at a computer. I can sit and read or play board games at a dining table for hours, but being at a computer is a different kind of posture. At the very least, you need something with height adjustability. Bonus if you can also tilt the seat pan a little forward. I have a hard and fast rule against buying any chair unless I have actually spent time sitting in it. Yes, this is good advice. But sometimes it's not as simple as that. In my experience, I've had to sit in a chair for hours / days before I can know for sure if it's right. I had to reject a Herman Miller Aeron chair due to this. Thankfully my husband loves it. It was my birthday present.
