Okay - did the corrections and think I have a close approximation of your space. Each block represents 1 foot. The gray area is the space needed around the island for walking with people seated - should be clear of furniture. Can you take a picture of the full wall where the fireplace and tv nook are - not sure I got their placements right. Do you plan on using the tv nook for the TV? How did you envision the living/seating areas when you designed the kitchen? How many people need to be seated - do you need a dining space and how many people need to sit at the dining table or are you just using the island for meals?

Appreciate you opinion. There is very little wall in the room. Our contractor is planning to paint before the cabinets are in and I suspect before the top hats are connected? THe colors are below. We tried calm and classic grey. ON the swatches and painted on the wall below. Neither did anythink for the tile. Would it be a mistake to get the paint on the cabinets matched paint everything and let it all blend in? We would paint the moulding a semigloss. Or maybe do a color on the top of the wall near the ceiling where the breakfast bar is. Or even under the breakfast bar. We are really stumped. THank you for any wisdom you can share.

My boyfriend put a tv there for who knows what reason (bachelor at the time) but that would be taken down and the blue cabinet would move. It’s a huge open area with living room on the other side. The open space area is about 12’x13’.
