Bathroom Remodeling - Need Help on Vanity Replacement

Al

Hi all!

We are looking to gut a bathroom after the holidays and are looking for suggestions on what to replace the current vanity with. The bathroom is the one that most guests will use, but most importantly it is the pool bathroom as well - it has an exterior entrance straight to the pool, and an interior entrance to the dining area/kitchen. Oh yeah, there's also an old sauna.

The current vanity measures 49 1/2" W x 23" D x 31 1/4" H. As you can see from the photo below, there is an angle on one end (the walls aren't parallel - so maybe that's why they did that years ago?) - so the W measurement is along the backside.

We aren't exactly settled on what to replace this vanity with. Ideally, we'd have storage space for swimsuits and towels. We don't need the entire countertop that's currently there. So some initial thoughts involve a much narrower vanity where the sink currently is situated plus something between that exterior door and the vanity. Perhaps cubbies (that go up the entire wall? or partway up the wall?) and a bench of some sort (we will be removing the mirror too)? But we aren't sure on what that setup might look like and are hoping the knowledgeable folks would be able to suggest some designs/looks/considerations. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Assuming something else besides the single vanity, what's the minimum width that would make sense? Would be dividing the current 49 1/2" space between the new vanity and this other thing.
