The heat and current drought we are having isn't good for lettuce...a few of my squash have reached full spread and I've planted them before, so I know how big they get. I have a lot of cukes already and I live in sweet corn country...but maybe some radishes! Also, I don't have a lot of plant shops around me that carry odd/non traditional plants, so I don't have much selection. Kale might be good, if I can find a kale plant to buy! Thanks for the advice!!!

They will fall off on their own. Adding some flowers nearby to attract bees and pollinators will help, or you could just hand pollinate.

I felt I needed to do something, so I trapped him in a tupperware, filled another container with water, took him outside near a field, poured the water into the tupperware to rinse him off a bit, then tipped him out of the tupperware. I left for a few minutes, then came back, and he'd had the presence of mind to scootch on over to hide under a shrub. I felt better seeing he'd done this, but next time, I'll go get lady bugs or some other non-chemical way of getting rid of the white flies. Oh, I did find out, s/he's a Pacific Treefrog, a bright green little fellow. Apparently it's not unheard of for them to take up residence in flower pots.

FOUND a solution. Thin spacer bars available in white, black, stainless or almond. Mine arrived today and they are easy to install and look like it is a part of the stove. Ours is a slip in stove and there was a gap between the stove top and the counters (Wider on the left than the right). I inserted the supplied tape on the left side but since it was a smaller opening on the right I could not use the tape.
