What flooring and cabinets go together

I’ve already purchased the flooring from the first picture. It has some brown hues in it that the cabinet color will bring out. the lady at Home Depot told me that. But people on Facebook have told me it does not go together at all. I’ve had so many people say no and a few say yes. I need a professional to help me decide. There is also a picture of ivory cabinets I have an option to choose. I just need help deciding what would look good in my house.

If you have already purchased the flooring then I prefer the white cabinets with it. But color varies on computer monitors. Also what lady at Home Depot??? They're usually not very reliable for this type of advice

You want contrast in your kitchen, so try to work around your cabinets to create that. Choose the flooring closer to your backsplash and your counter should be the contrast, this way your kitchen will have that "pop" everyone is looking for.

I went out to the flooring stores today and came back more confused. First, I realized that I should only get a sample of the specific flooring I want (including thickness and company), not just the wood species. The same species looks a lot different from different manufacturers and even from different production methods (engineered vs solid, etc). When I got home I realized that I was probably going to fail at matching the natural cherry to something, because the cherry will darken with age! So even if I found something today that I liked, things will be different in a year. So I have decided to go back to the amendoim after all. It does have a reddish tone, without being dark and red like the Brazilian cherry. And I do not want all cherry anyway - I am going to use cherry cabinets (stained a dark color, but still cherry). So I expect it will all work out in the end. I have read posts where people have cherry furniture on amendoim flooring, and they love the combination. I always assumed they meant the "cherry" furniture that is really ash or birch stained the dark red color. But now I realize even a natural cherry will end up getting to the darker color over the years. Ah, how easy it is to drive myself crazy with all of the litte decisions (reminding myself that this is not life-or-death). Good luck, willienak.

Speaking of solid white countertops, I just refinished these solid surface tops this afternoon: Yeah, solid surface has been around for 40 years, but so what? In white, it's the "little black dress" of countertops; it never goes out of style. This lady got new countertops today for less than $300.00. Her old ones are in the bag of my new $700.00 Festool vacuum. There is no law saying all the tops have to have the same finish either. You could have a flashy gloss bar with a more practical semi-gloss or matte everywhere else. Sanitary, salvageable, sexy, and plays nicely with others in the kitchen. What more could you want?

How far does the hardwood extend on the rest of that floor. I would find out if you can find the same hardwood that is in the dining area, extend it into the kitchen and refinish the whole floor in a light color. Although I do like the darker floors. However, I would not rip out a good hardwood floor, just extend it and finish in a color throughout that you like.

Here are photos of our mostly finished kitchen. Still a few things yet to be done. The terrazzo floors and walnut cabinets are gorgeous together. Our cabinet maker is a local guy (https://trickettwoodwork.com) and he did an excellent job with everything. We are loving our new space!

I think that you should hire a designer for expert advice. Someone needs to see in person the exact colors that you are considering to guide you to select cabinets and floors that will work together. It's very chancy to rely on HD, Facebook, or Houzz. And for my own two cents, I would strongly suggest that you stay away from a gray floor. It's a growing dated look. Good luck

Is this home already built or new construction? There are so many other factors to consider here (lighting, other finishes, trim, counters, etc.) that as someone said you are better off with a designer. In the third picture, which one is the khaki oak? far left or far right? I think my biggest concern is the design of the cabinets looks so traditional and the flooring looks so rustic that they seem to clash in style.

Out of the 5 samples you have posted in the above picture ... I think the middle looks best. You need to check samples in your lighting.

IMO the cabinets and the Khaki oak do not work together one is a very warm tone and the other cool.I would choose a white cabinet without the glaze and IMO a simpler door style with that floor which has a bit of a contemporary feel to it.To be honest colors on monitors are not really accurate enough to really help you decide. The “lady” is there to sell stuff they really are not designers at all usually.In order for us to help you it is also a good idea to post the spaces around a kitchen especially the flooring in the adjoining spaces.Glazed cabinets always look dirty IMO and those doors with all the grooves will be difficult to keep clean in a well used kitchen

I agree with mnmamax3 - the cabinets look like they belong to a very traditional, formal kitchen while the floor seems to belong to a more casual, rustic kitchen. And as others have mentioned, you need to consider the rest of your house; you'd want the overall style and feel to be the same.
