WLOMWL SWAP RULES AND WISH LISTS.

PLEASE DO NOT POST QUESTIONS HERE. THIS THREAD WILL BE FOR SWAP RULES AND WISH LISTS ONLY. :}

Eligible Participants
Everyone is welcomed to join in on this swap. Though we have many returning participants, we always welcome new swappers.

Important Dates:

Sign up now through December, 31st
Post your wish list by December, 31st
Mail your seeds to me no later than January 19th,
I will mail back to you by February 1st

Your Wish List:

Post your wish list here by December 31st, the sooner the better.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.please take time to prepare your wish list! If your looking for pink flowers or flowers for sun to add to your garden, please don't write anything pink or anything for sun. Do a little homework and list names of plants that you would like to grow. A simple search on google or a nice seed site will give you many options to list that will work for your zone/requirements. Please be as specific as you can when wishing.

Eligible Seeds:

The only seeds sent in to this swap should be from a players wish list. Any seeds sent in that are not on a wish list will be considered as extras and will not count towards your return package.

Please do not send seeds that are more than three years old. The exception to this rule is if it a very rare find that's on a wish list.

Please do not send dollar store type bargain seeds as I have never seen those on anyone's wish list!

Do send seeds you have harvested or good quality seeds left from your commercial packets.

Read wish lists carefully. If a person lists only specific varieties of a plant, that is what they want.

If someone says "Surprise me," you may do so, but send only 1 per player and make sure they are something special and appropriate for the recipient's garden. Be sure to write "Surprise" on the label.

Try to send seeds for as many different people as possible. If someone asks for rather common seeds, it's safe to assume others will send in some of those too. If everyone sends in the commons, we all get some!

Mark each packet you send in clearly and legibly with

(a) name of the plant, including scientific name if possible
(b) year the seed was harvested or packaged for
(c) recipient's name
(d) your name

Be as generous as you can in the number of seeds per packet.
Normally 25 or so seeds is about right with more for tiny seeds and perhaps fewer for very large or rare seeds.

If you send seed packets with small amounts of seeds, they will be combined to make a fair trade packet.
If you have only enough seeds for one packet, send one packet. An exception to this rule: If you have just a bit of something very rare, most of us would rather receive a small amount than none.

If you send multiple packets of the very same seed for one person, they will count as only one packet.
(When someone says duplicates are okay that is a note to me and it means duplicates that just happen to come in from different people.)

Packing for Mailing

Group seed packets by recipients screen name and enclose them in a baggie or envelope. Please don't make them hard to separate. I may have to separate if a player has too many sent in for them. This is where we have to redistribute to other players.

Enclose the following information in the package with your seeds:

(a) Total number of packets
(b) Number of packets of flowers
(c) Number of packets of edibles, including vegetables, fruit, edible herbs

Seeds You Will Receive:

How many of your wishes are filled depends on what is sent in for you by the other players in the swap.

If fewer packets are sent in for you than you sent to me, you will receive duplicates or substitutions that I think you might enjoy growing.

As far as possible, I will send back to you the same sort of seeds that you send in:
mostly named in = mostly named out;
mostly generic in = mostly generic out;
mostly veggies in = mostly veggies out.

THIS IS NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE BUT I WILL DO MY BEST

Return Shipping:

There are two options for your return envelope.

1. Priority/flat rate shipping which is 7.20 for the bubble envelope. The USPS provides padded mailers at no extra charge. The cost includes tracking and delivery confirmation.

2. first class mail-you may send in the same amount in stamps that it costs you to mail. NOTE: there will not be a tracking number this way! I'll simply reuse your mailer, add your stamps and drop your return envelope in the nearest drop box. Do keep in mind that if you are requesting "heavy" seeds and didn't send in heavy seeds you may have to pay extra to get your package from the post office.

I think that's it!

yotetrapper - I feel just like you! It's just barely getting started for me. I also did the Baker's Creek thing, adding everything I wanted to my cart. It was over $100 at the end, after a lot of fun hours of searching. I emptied my cart and came right back over to GW. Uggggh... LOL... If I hadn't already gotten several things at a couple other places first, I wouldn't have been able to resist. They're my favorite, so I should have saved my cash to shop there. Now, hopefully, I'll trade some of what I did get, like you, to get some of what I didn't get. LOL Blessings, Angela

It was more like three, and I have added them all to his list on the Composite List.

I have updated SunshineGal's list several times in the last two days, including what she said was her last list, but I will do it again. I recently added Tom's peppers back to his list. and I will remove the red Nicotiana from his list. I will try to sort it all out. I will remove indigo2017blue's list, though I have tried to help and encourage her to participate. And Lisa, I will add your list to the Composite List.

I have spent most of this day outside in the cold, behind frozen to the seat of the tractor and then to the ATV, trying to get ranch, animals and water lines, ready for the cold weather we are expecting this week. I hope all of you are safe and warm in this extreme cold.

I have way more seeds already than I can use, so I am withdrawing from this swap. I'll get the Composite List as correct and as complete as I can, of course.

Wow, that list would get a ton of generic seeds. I think I could send fifty packets alone to her and I don't have very many seeds to begin with, lol, Maybe we could give her an extra day to pick a couple named or specific varieties of those?

Pat, I think we all have too many seeds or at least more than we can grow this season. Sorry that you have decided to withdraw.

Farming must be a lot of work, especially when cold snaps like this hit. I feel bad for the poor animals that have to be outdoors and endure the cold. I know they say some are built for it but I still feel bad for them. Keep your babies warm.

    It's -5 here in MA. this morning....Brrrr

I know people have added/ changed lists a lot. Thank you for handling that aspect for me. I appreciate the help!

Pat would you please have indigo message me ishareflowers@aol.com. I have messaged her twice with no response. Maybe my Houzz messages aren't reaching her. I'm happy to have her play along. I don't want to leave anyone out who wants to play but would like a chance to email with her before her list is posted.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
