Christmas binge!!!

Im smack in the middle if my annual Christmas Carol binge. Already watched The Muppet Christmas Carol, Scrooge the musical with Albert Finney, the George C. Scott version, and Disney's with Jim Carrey as scrooge. It was my first viewing of the Disney one,and it seems to be a rather morbid and scary version to be meant for kids, IMO. I have a few more different versions to watch,then I like to finish up with the Muppets again,since Michael Caine is my favorite scrooge and then Scrooge with Albert Finney again because the music is fun. I don't like the tiny Tim in that one,but none of them have the perfect cast I guess. I had no idea until this year that Albert Finney was only 34 or 35 when he filmed that, and that Marley was also Obi Wan Kenobi. I remember not liking that one when I was little because of the bizarre "Scrooge in Hell" scene. It still strikes me as odd but I'm drawn to the movie over and over again. Tommorow I watch all the clay mation classics from the 60s. Rudolph,Santa Claus is coming to town,the little drummer boy,and I hope that I can find The Life and Adventures of Saint Nicholas. Then more scrooge movies. Then the grinch. SO is going to leave me. ;)

have bumped into "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" at almost same exact spot 2-3 times already... SQUIRREL!!

Gosh no. I can't take Christmas overload. Small bite size pieces for me.

Lol Elizabeth. I do feel a little exhausted after the binge, but while I listen to Christmas music year round,i only allow myself to watch Christmas movies from thanksgiving to Christmas. So I make the most of it. :) I love it.

Ha. Lost! DH and I watched an episode in the next-to-last season and that was all it took. Next-door neighbors lent us all the previous seasons and we binge-watched, 2-3 episodes a night, took a couple of weeks. Loved it! But at that time no one was talking about "binge-watching", and we were embarrassed! That scene from Olychick's Portlandia where they reach the end of the series is just how we felt. :>) Yes, I love House of Cards; DH does not, so I watched it alone (bought both seasons). Took my time with Season One, but took a Saturday off and watched Season Two straight through. Pound pound on the desk! Terrific! Can't wait for the next season. Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are riveting.

I love visiting Leavenworth, WA. I have only been there in early June and mid September and it was really nice. I don't do snow so I appreciate your winter picture. We played golf on the Leavenworth golf course and saw the salmon spawning. It was an amazing site and a fun golf course. On our way there we stopped at the little town where they make Aplets and Cotlets. We took the tour and loved the unlimited samples.

The Muppets Christmas Carol is one of the best. I used to watch it on Christmas Eve with my son when he was a kid. We always watched the Mr. Magoo Christmas Carol when I was a kid and I seem to recall it being on on Christmas Eve. A Charlie Brown Christmas is really my favorite. It takes me right back to being ten years old again, the first year it played. Anyone remember the Dolly Madison commercials? Santa sledding down the hill on the Norelco razor?

I don't start any of it too early though or I'll be burnt out on Christmas before it gets here.

I just saw National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation for the third time this year. I've also seen Elf twice and The Santa Clause once. Not exactly a binge, but I do like Christmas movies too.

Too much Christmas is not a good thing in my book so I prefer the season not to start until 12/15 and it must finish no later than 12/26. However, in that short window there are a couple of not-to-miss movies - Christmas Vacation is one (seen it so many times, I can recite the dialogue :-)) and Love Actually is the second. Depending on what else is happening, I might fit in a Home Alone and a Christmas with the Kranks. My sister loves Elf but a little Will Farrell goes a very long way with me.....no thanks!

Love Elf!!!! I've only watched it twice so far,as I'm concentrating on the Christmas carols right now. But no doubt will watch it a few more times....

A classic I don't care for is A Christmas Story. That Santa freaked me out when I was little and I never really liked it. And is it just me or is the Santa in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer kind of a jerk?????
