Comments (15)Poppers Recipe - originally posted by trudymom This is a delicious appetizer. It can be made ahead of time. I have prepared & baked, cooled & frozen in ziplocks & reheated in low oven to serve. They make a nice presentation, stacked on a round platter. Posted by trudymom (My Page) onSun, Dec 2, 07 Crescent Jalapeno Poppers Recipe #227403 : 40 min : 25 min prep : Recipe Zaar By: Lainey6605 May 10, 2007 These are tasty little appetizers. Serve them with sour cream or guacamole, if desired. SERVES 16 (change servings and units) * 4 jalapeno chiles (about 3 inches long) * 1/3 cup boursin spreadable cheese with garlic and herbs (from 5.2 ounce container) * 8 slices packaged pre-cooked shortcut bacon (from 2.2 ounce package, halved) * 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent dinner roll * 1/2 cup pineapple salsa (optional) or fruit salsa (optional) Directions Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Carefully remove stems from chiles; cut each in half lengthwise and again horizontally to make 4 pieces. Remove and discard seeds. Spoon about 1 teaspoon cheese into each chile quarter. Wrap half slice of bacon around each. On cutting board, unroll dough; separate dough into 8 triangles. From center of longest side to opposite point, cut each triangle in half, making 16 triangles. Place chile, cheese side down, on dough triangle. Fold 1 point of triangle over filling; fold 2 remaining points over first point. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Comments (16)I made my own recipe for Swedish meatballs for a friend's superbowl party a few weeks ago. Since you simply use pre-made frozen meatballs, and just add the sauce they are pretty easy to make. Swedish Meatballs (serves an entire super bowl party) 200 frozen meatballs 5 medium onions chopped 4 Tbsp butter 1 Tbsp better than bouillon concentrate 3 Tbsp flour 1/3 cup medium dry Madeira 1 quart half and half 1 cup sour cream (or plain greek yogurt) 1 tsp paprika Microwave meatballs in large glass bowl until thawed and heated. Melt butter, in large pan, add onions and cook until softened and translucent. Add Madeira and cook until most of it evaporates. Add flour and bouillon concentrate and stir in well. Add half and half and paprika and cook and stir until thickened Blend sauce with hand blender until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Add meatballs to large (6 QT) crock pot, pour sauce over meatballs, stir until meatballs are well coated....See MoreNeed potluck main dish for 40-50 for party at our home
Comments (21)I'm a big fan of meatballs so that'd be a first choice for me. A good ham, even a turkey would be simple as would be the pulled pork. A good hearty chicken salad (a good one with nuts, grapes, etc) would be on my plate too. A spread of meats and cheeses for a build your own sandwich would be good too with good quality buns, breads or the like. Even a mini salad bar would be nice and could be used for topping a sandwich if they should so choose. Or go one better for a taco bar. Is this going to be a standing, walkaround affair or sit down? Soup and chili are not good options for stand and mingle but it's a good time of year for it. A lighter scalloped potatoes and ham would work well too. If the food needs to be out a long time though, I'd definitely look for some electric roasters, crockpots, even electric frypans wok well as a chafing dish...See MoreCan you suggest make-ahead party foods for me?
Comments (30)These are OH-SO-GOOD! I have made these dozens of times and everyone loves them: Tortilla rollups These tortilla roll-ups are very popular, especially for holiday entertaining. Serve with salsa, Ranch dressing, sour cream, guacamole, or use your own favorite dip ideas. Ingredients: â¢5 large flour tortillas â¢1 bunch green onions, chopped â¢4 ounces chopped green chiles, drained â¢8 ounces cream cheese, softened â¢8 ounces sour cream â¢1/2 pound Cheddar cheese, shredded â¢salt and pepper to taste â¢salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or your favorite dip ideas. Preparation: Have tortillas at room temperature. Place the remaining ingredients in a bowl mix with an electric mixer on low until well combined. Spread mixture thinly and evenly over tortillas to within 1/8-inch of edge. Roll up jelly-roll fashion and wrap each tortilla in plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight. When ready to serve, slice in 3/4 inch rounds and arrange on serving plate. Serve plain or with salsa. Note: tortillas will dry out if cut too far in advance. Serve with your favorite salsa or a few different dips, Ranch dressing, guacamole, sour cream, your choice. Makes about 60 appetizers. NOTES : These are good with crab meat or most any other meat, too!...See MoreBunny
