Best type of shower? (Frameless glass, glass block, etc)
Comments (7)You could go frameless with a glass that isn't totally clear (some texture) so you don't have to be a slave to the sqeege. Honestly....how much money do you have to spend? I prefer a 3/4" thick frameless glass shower. It's rich and heavy and feels like the quality it is. But it's expensive. A glass block wall...well you get more areas for mold with that, but they're nice (and I'm not ashamed to say if necessary I use some x14) and I'll probably do that in our rental because it's far less than the frameless glass. So both are nice...but it's all about budget....See MoreLightweight Cookware Safe For Glass Cooktops - Please Help
Comments (8)Thanks for your replies! I decided not to use my old Revereware because my manufacturer advised against it, plus I needed a new set anyway. Most of the botttoms were not flat, etc. I wanted to reply to this thread in case anyone was searching for the same thing, because I found a really nice set of cookware, REALLY light and inexpensive, and actually is a really nice set. It's called Tools of the Trade Cookright (NOT the Basics line), it's Macy's brand. It is stainless steel with an aluminum disk. http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=286749&CategoryID=29089 For frying eggs and stuff, I got the same brand (Cookright) but in hard anodized. http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=392311&CategoryID=29089 I have no problem lifting them even with food in them, very very lightweight. If you have arthritis or fibromyalgia or any type of pain, I would highly suggest them. The stainless are dishwasher safe, but my husband has hand washed them so far because they are easy to clean and so pretty. Eventually I'm sure they'll make their way to the dishwasher. The hard anodized pans are NOT dishwasher safe. The box says they are safe for glass cooktops, and there were many other surfaces too, although now the box is gone and I can't list the surfaces, but I think it was safe for most I could think of. Hope this helps someone out there like me! Thanks again for the replies!...See MoreColored Wine Glasses Truly Dishwasher Safe
Comments (3)Being another collector I would vote for a nice set of clear glasses. I have found some great glasses at marshalls/TJMaxx/Home Goods. I have Riedels, Schweissel, bormiolis and a few others. Oh and my Zaltos, but that is a whole other level of crazy ....See MoreWhat type of canner for glass top stove?
Comments (14)amazon has them. Ace hardware can order them for you if you have one. Presto makes it quite complicated to deal with the whole process so we generally do not recommend ordering it from them. The part number if you need it is 50332 https://smile.amazon.com/Presto-Pressure-Canner-Regulator/dp/B000HMBVQ8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467304758&sr=8-1&keywords=Presto+3+piece+weight+set Also be sure to review the How to use a PC guidelines at NCHFP as they often differ from the instruction manual. http://nchfp.uga.edu/publications/uga/using_press_canners.html...See Moremiss lindsey (She/Her)
