The strongest color is the easiest to change: the rug. Perhaps. different rug that incorporates the rich red, but is softened by other colors. A large piece of artwork on the wall.

do you like your strong colors?

if you'd like to tame them:

-bring another rug. A bit bigger too. Maybe cream/ivory with a bit of red in it? Bring in earthy yet lighter pieces..light ceramics? A plant..Another lamp of warm but softer colors. Art for sure. Something you love..

if you'd like to embrace them:

-consider darker walls. Darker curtais...maybe in amber, ecru? Then your strong colors become an envelope, a background. You perceive them as less strong because they get to be the main player. You'll need lighter accents for that too:) Depends on your room of course..

Again, bigger rug, plants, art of course..good idea whichever road you choose

Do you have photos of rooms you like? Look at them..post them here if you have time.

First, decide on your direction. Everybody's different. Styles are different. Rooms are different, with amount of light they get, ceilings' height, purpose..being mostly "evening" rooms or "morning" rooms, or ones that have to be both. Think on what feel you're after.

Si la alfombra tuviera más otros colores además del rojo oscuro, creo que sería más equilibrado.
