Creeping Rosemary 6-Pack. Plant just 1 or all 6 in a pot?
Comments (5)Richters sells "Huntington Carpet Rosemary" by the 12-pack. The 12-pack plants are small but they grow and it is a great way to get a number of an herb plant that you wouldn't want to start from seed. The plug trays (120 plants) are a great deal too if you want to plant a whole area into something. There are minimum numbers to buy on these so that can be an issue if you only want one but get a friend to go in on something with you. Comments (9)Ginny, there was much more unusual stuff the previous week at Gore Place Plant sale. In both sales they did import plants from outside growers. Gore Place definitely had the better prices than Lyman Estates but Lyman Estates had a discount for members so may be this was why the prices were higher. The Gore Plant sale had a list of the plants on their website they offered at the sale so this was a nice feature to see if there was anything you wanted. To give you an idea, here is what I got at Gore Place: Albutilon 'melon sorbet' Sage 'Pineapple' Begonia 'Baby Wing Pink' Begonia hiemalis 'Solenia' Begonia tuberhybrida 'Illumination Apricot' Coleus saber Cuphea ignea 'Firecracker plant' Ipomea batatas (light green shade of potato vine) Dahlia Variabilis 'Redskin' Craspedia globosa 'Drumstick' And 2 other plants. All for $40. The plants were all healthy and most in 3 or 4" round pots. At the Lyman Estates I bought a Stars and Strips Penta, an unusual heuchera (1 Gallon) and a mint herb for $18. I was happy with these prices since I had been looking for that variety of Penta and haven't seen any of these except through mail order. In both cases the plant sales support the non profit causes that I am happy to support and the plants I got were healthy and well cared for. Comments (0)The only way I can keep this mower running is to take the air filter out and stuff a rag in and shut most of the air intake off. I can adjust the speed for the motor by adjusting the rag. It has a Tecumseh vector carb on it with the plastic bottom. According to serial number is a 1997 model. Last year I could keep in running by duck taping the primer bulb in. Do I need to replace the bottom part of the carb with that bowl kit I have seen posted (Tecumseh part# 730235B). Any help would be great...thanks...See MoreAV 1:1:1 soil to wet. Lost all 6 AV
Comments (12)Good points - do not use straight peat - the acidity of the peat is about 3.5-4.5 - so you need to check the pH of your mix - and add dolomite to get it to 6.5 or about. If you can do it - fine. Yup - the reason they croaked - is exactly what the other contributors said. You disturbed the roots - you need to reduce amount of leaves - and you need to give them TLC while they are rerooting. Means barely moist soil - and high humidity. So - dome them up, cover with baggies etc, in 10 days - they will root - and you can gradually expose them to the outside. Make sure that soil is barely moist, not soggy - so probably keep them off reservoirs. Learning curve is littered with dead plants... sorry. Fact of life. If you can find somebody in a driving distance who already grows them and you can get a demonstration with participation - it helps. That was a great advantage of the dying breed - AV clubs. Nothing replaces an actual experience with dipping your fingers in a good soil.. in a good company... i....See MoreRelated Professionals
