Brushed nickel spray paint on brass
Comments (17)Unless you have some odd style of hinge, I would just replace the hinge. You can usually find hinges for less than $1 a piece. I think paint works well on some items like lights and frames. But having metal and painted (metal color)close together usually doesn't work well, too easy to notice the difference. I have used the "hammer" texture paints before and they do give a surprising amount of texture. I didn't like them in my application, but I'm sure they would do well in other applications. I was hoping the hammered paints would help hide the shimmery-metal paints "lack of depth" in the finish, but it really didn't help....See MoreDo I want you to talk me out of doing this? I WANT it.
Comments (25)Lots of great advice above. I especially like the emphasis on supporting individual artisans. That's how I justify my ginormous library fines: I am supporting the local library. For me, I often will have an amount in my head, beyond which an object just seems unreasonable to me, regardless of whether or not I can actually afford it. Currently, my own dilemma concerns a 4,000 range hood. For me, this is just not a reasonable amount to spend on a hood, no matter how much I love it. So, is there any conflict in your mind about spending for a faucet what you would spend for an excellent quality dishwasher? If not, then it will probably thrill you every time you turn it on. And who doesn't need a good thrill several times a day! If you go for it, check out Home and Stone. They seem to carry some versions of it for a teeny, weeny bit less. The only thing I wonder about is whether this faucet style goes with the mission style you described above (e.g. the oil rubbed bronze light fixure from Rejuvenation). Now, I'll be the first to admit that my design style is seriously lacking, so I could be totally wrong on this! But when I saw the rough hammered faucet, it made me think of my sister-in-law's upscale western style, "chic cowgirl" bathroom in Colorado. It doesn't read "Greene and Greene" to me. But as I said, I could be totally wrong about that! :-) francy...See Morefaucet brand w/ a finish matching Kingston brass brushed brass?
Comments (35)@Liz Patrick Love your kitchen and thanks for showing the differences in detail. On a time crunch with our kids’ bath and trying to decide if i can mix Kingston Brushed Brass faucets (which will go better with our lighting) and Delta Champagne Bronze fixtures in the shower which will be behind a shower curtain. In the pic of your kitchen faucet and disposal button, you called the Delta finish Champagne Gold but you meant Champagne Bronze right? Thanks for your help! Anyone else use Kingston brushed brass with Kohler shower components in Vibrant Brushed Moderne Brass? Im wondering which one is a closer match, Kohler or Delta? I need something thats in stock and ready to ship so i cant wait for Brizo or California Faucets. Im also thinking of mixing the Kingston brushed brass fixtures in the vanity area with their polished brass in the shower behind the shower curtain. They dont have all the shower components we need in the brushed brass in stock. Would love anyone’s feedback..we decided to tack this on to a much more extensive reno and i dont have the luxury of going to showrooms to look for this part of the reno....See MoreShould I change my chrome faucets in my bathrooms to brushed nickel?
Comments (8)I have both chrome, brushed nickel, and brushed stainless steel throughout my home. It all blends well. When I had all my bathrooms renovated a few years ago, I kept my 30 year old solid shiny chrome towel bars and hooks, as they still looked brand new, and matched well to my new Minka Lavery pivot mirrors ( which I love). I did get new chrome faucets....See Moreheatherk01
