New build Living Room Suggestions
Comments (9)I think it's looking really good, and I'd just keep it simple. You have your great ceiling and floors, and beautiful paint color, so I think I'd keep everything else neutral and muted. Maybe cream, khaki, a teeny bit of blue and yellow? If you need shades/blinds, I'd go with something really unobtrusive, like solar shades. http://www.blinds.com/control/subCategory/categoryID,17...See MoreLiving room - what furniture would work
Comments (1)Find one thing that you LOVE. A fabric, a rug, a piece of art, a chair - it can be anything but you need something to build upon. Do you have something like this in your home already that you love? For inspiration look at wallpapers and fabrics....See MoreNew mum overwhelming by her blue living room. any suggestion please
Comments (20)Totally get your overwhelmed feeling. I once picked out a nice shade of blue that looked way to harsh as well. Maybe your husband dislikes it as much as you do? Maybe he doesn't want to give you the blues, but is inwardly choking on this color too? I would try to find his honest perspective and if he is in doubt too, I would really and sincerely apologize very much indeed. Then I would suggest to go for at least two shades lighter and try it out on a bit of one wall first. And indeed, keeping the lower part in step with the woodwork, I'd paint that all white anyway. Although some given ideas might soften the pain a bit, it will never become what it is supposed to be. Alternatively you could make this the room of your newborn, if he is a son, and move the living room into his bedroom... just kidding ;) At least you'll never fall into this trap again for the rest of your life....See MoreNeed suggestions for living room furniture - blank slate
Comments (3)would consider removing the french doors, possibly hanging them on the diningroom entry, this will allow you to "close off" that space while freeing up some space where the doors currently rest, and swing, 2 sofas with two smaller tables in the middle rather than a long one so they can be moved to set drinks on or out of the way with parties. possibly get a smaller chair to one side of the 2 sofas. two reading floor lamps on the inside wall narrow sofa tables, perhaps store a few poufs or ottomans under them for foot rests or addition seating at parties. . https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/red-barrel-studio-72-console-table-and-stool-set-w004771551.html...See MoreD Smith
