Fireplace insert

I purchased a Charmglow fireplace with mantel from Lowes and now the electric fireplace insert has to be replaced. I am looking for one that is 28 inches long 23 3/8 high and 10 1/2 wide from front to back. The insert needs to have a glass front and I would like to have one where you can adjust the flames from high to low as this one has.

I could not find anyone in Atlanta that would work on electric fireplaces and the spinner makes strange loud sounds.

What choices do I have that you carry that would work as a insert. Please send them to me.

Do you expect the mall where Penny’s is housed to give you advice? Or the guy in the parking no lot doing security? Houzz is only the platform. You’re talking to other customers in the mall like they work for the mall. Go buy a C please.

For something that can burn down your house, not doing your own due diligence is just foolish.

Call a fireplace store really sometimes I think posters think we have nothing better to do than find stuff they can find on their own

I talked with somebody at houzz Friday afternoon explaining that I needed a new insert after I posted this and I was concerned about the size I needed a 28 long 10 1/2 wide and 23 3/8 high for replacement. To order the wrong insert would be a expensive and heavy return costing above $60. I also wanted to find out if you had any other inserts available that looked more realistic regardless of cost. When researching fireplace inserts your store kept coming up and there are no fireplace stores that carry electric fireplace inserts as Home Depot corporate home office was trying to find one for me. They also came across houzz for a referral. Your response was very unprofessional and a bad reflection on your company. I would like to cancel my order immediately. I believe your job title is to provide professional customer service and not chase the customer away. "Really" being sarcastic perhaps you should find something better to do, and seek employment elsewhere. You have tarnished the reputation of houzz the very company you work for and should be fired for doing so. I will never use houzz again or recommend them. Your attitude is shameful.

This may be a boneheaded idea, but we have this fireplace insert (Lopi Revere, used 4 winters) and I am considering moving it to a new location. The problem: The new location would have to be built first (no fireplace). My question is, by the time I frame an alcove, line it with firebrick and bring it up to snuff to make sure my house won't burn down, will I be better off selling the insert and buy a freestanding stove? Yes! I ordered a fireplace insert thing that uses STEAM -- and we couldn't have chosen better. Don't remember the name, but we ordered it from Target. When the steam comes out it looks exactly like smoke. There are fake logs and orange lighting and we love it!. I decided that we really didn't need to see both sides of the fire at once, so I made black curtains to hang on the back side, making the two sided look (from the front) like a one sided. We just ignore the back side and it looks great.

Depends on the type of gas fireplace. If it is a direct vent, you cannot remove the glass, but you can hide it with a decorative front. Please post some pictures of the fireplace so we can see what you have. If you can find the brand and model number, post that too.

James - I think you are confusing these forums with customer service for the retail side of Houzz. The people here are regular people who are helping other people with their design decisions for their houses. They are not paid and are not employees of Houzz.

So it seems that you, in fact, owe Patricia an apology, not the other way around.

Leila .. Due to Patricia Calwell's remark the order has been canceled. Her comment was very unprofessional in customer service. I do not retract an apology She was not helping in her arrogant decision that I should do the research myself when I was the customer and it was not provided the information on your web site. That is not customer service and she should no way be helping people with design decisions and chasing houzz customers away with her attitude. Due to her unprofessional response I will never use Houzz again because in this case she should not have responded period. The order in shipment will be rejected due to her being allowed comment on houzz site. Leave it to the customer to seek their own design decisions as they do not need her attitude and arrogance and she tells on herself that she is not helpful. Her posted free advise has just cost houzz a sale because the customer is always first and foremost, free or paid..
