Thank you everyone for your confirmation of what I knew already. I just needed a push to make the decision. I am so bad at making decisions. I waffle back and forth and go over and over it in my head, and it is nice to have found you all to help me and give me food for thought. I have been on the kitchen forum for over a year, but I never posted much, was mostly a lurker. Many there just plain out intimidated me with their knowledge of the tiniest details of kitchen design and planning and the opinions to go with it. I did learn many things there and it helped me immensely in planning my kitchen, but I have to say I feel much more comfortable on this forum and I see myself spending much more time here now. Hi Karen! Thanks for your question. We have 43” clearance from the edge of the island top to the fridge. That msmt does not include the 12” island top over hang. When the fridge door is open we only have 26” from door to the edge of the island top. Hope that makes sense! Do you think we should just do a backless swivel stool? I found some at RH but my other half isn’t too thrilled with the industrial look?!?!

Hi, for your stool choice...for comfort alone, I would choose stool E, but I think you would want the fabric to be a lighter colour otherwise it will be lost against the dark wood of your island. Could we see a couple of good pictures of the counters? I admire your skills for photoshopping all those choices, but they are too small to see how they work with your counter and cupboard choices. Is the counter installed? Even if you give us the name of the material (granite or quartz name) it would help. Just based on the photos you've provided, I'd say some of them are too bright white for your space. If you are thinking of pulling a white out of the counters, then you need to find a matching or at least coordinating white. Some of the pictures above look like a cool white while it appears to be a warmer white or cream colour is the lightest colour of your counters.
