What style and color chairs should I get to match my living room?
Comments (23)yes, I saw that. benjes, I didn't mean to suggest that your comment was for just me. I did suggest she move the photos, I just didn't say 'they don't belong'. I'm on the fence with it. If one doesn't have any worthy art, and the family photos are done in a way that look good, coordinate w/one another and properly sized, then I suppose you could do it. But for over the sofa, I still prefer one or two large pieces of actual art. or a mirror. and I'm loving this danish chair w/the teal cushions...See MoreWhat style patio furniture?
Comments (5)Wow, that looks like some major Flintstones barbecue action. Yum. The scale and color of the chimney seem really off to me with the style and colors of your house. So it is hard for me to envision what could pull those two looks together. When you say cover do you mean sun cover? And what kind of furniture do you want out here? Dining set? Sofa and lounge set? What will the finished patio floor look like? Are you adding any plantings? Give us just a bit more info and I'm sure something great will come together....See MoreWhat style and from what era is this furniture?
Comments (5)I can't say for certain but it looks as though it is Colonial Revival. We had a sofa that was a bit like that which dated from the 1950's. There were foam cushions which sat on wood slat supports - wasn't the most comfortable piece of furniture :-). Because furniture like this was made during during many decades, it's difficult to date without looking at construction - Colonial Revival was also popular prior to WW II. FWIW, grandmothers sometimes bought new furniture so just because a piece was owned by a grandmother doesn't mean that she bought it when she was 20. Conversely, a grandmother could have bought something used which was made before she was born :-)....See MoreLiving room color, furniture, style help please!
Comments (3)Its a nice big room where you can use a large area rug and even a sectional if so inclined. Your focal/feature here is the fireplace. I think a credenza 25% wider than your TV will work in the recess. Hang the TV on an articulated arm for adjustability. Consider top down/bottom up shades to give you some privacy from the neighbors....See Moredecoenthusiaste
