The red leaves are most likely a sign of stress. Could it be disease? - That's possible, but unlikely if they were in good shape when you got them. Lack of nutrients? - Nope, forget that one. Watering every day? - Should only be done if you have very very sharply draining soil. You really need to test soil moisture (down a few inches below the surface) to determine when to water. Longer (deeper), less frequent watering is much better than shorter (quick), frequent watering. Unlikely you overfed your lime tree, growsunshine. How much sun does this lime tree receive? How is the tree watered, does it every get hit by sprinklers? Where are you in California, close to the coast or further inland? N. or S. Calif?? Your spots look like something fungal to me. I would watch to see if more leaves are affected. If so, please send more photos, both full photos of the entire tree, as well as some close up photos. You can always try to spray the leaves top and bottom with a fungicide, and see if that clears things up. Check the bottom of the leaves to make sure you don't have any bugs or other issues going on, on the underside of the leaves, that are causing this appearance on the top of the leaves. Patty S.

The best treatment is to ignore them, they are a natural occurence in Eucs and may be due to organisms such as wasps, flies, beetles, psyllids, coccids, moths, nematodes and mites as well as bacteria and fungi. They rarely cause significant damage to a healthy tree, although stressed, isolated trees may be different. The best control is a healthy yard with plenty of predatory birds and insects. Systemic insecticides are impractical on large trees, usually inneffective, almost always uneccessary and more like to harm off target species than the gall forming organisms. You'll probably find as your Euc grows up you hardly notice the odd gall.

the buds are this years growth ... track back down until the bark changes.. and that was last years growth .. and last years needles ... your brown spots look like the year prior to last years growth ... agree??? if so.. they were there during shipping .. handling..and planting ... ergo .. its old MINOR damage.. which showed after winter .. and im talking real minor ... ignore it ... its a tree.. imo.. it will NEVER need fert ... so all all you can do .... this year.. add water in severe drought, in regard to the end of transplant shock and getting fully established ... otherwise.. it should be all set ... subject to any issues that type of plant might have in your zone .... of which i am unaware of any ... ken
