Carnivous Plants in Costa Rica?
Comments (4)Hi have been there several times and though I've never looked for them I suspect they';re not too common. Most of the tropical species seem to be Asian or African. What you will be dazzled with is the epiphytes!! Something like 10,000 species!! Have you checked the biota listings?? There are something like 60,000 species of plants in the area. Wish I were going with you ,Love the place. Be sure to visit the high altitude Cloud forests. Like visiting another planet. gary...See MoreNewbie with mislabelled plant
Comments (4)HI Welcome, Ken taught me how to do this, so I'll teach you. (I tend to overdo detail, so forgive the extra verbage.) (By the way, I have a few "Sam's club" hostas. I didn't remember the names, and this list has been very helpful with naming them.) I assume you know how to get the pictures on your computer, so I'm just gonna tell you how to get them on gardenweb (and in emails when you can't send an attachment). 1. Set up a photobucket.com account - it's free. Just go there, sign up and remember your password. 2. Sign into your photobucket account. Click on "upload images and videos". Your list of files will come up. 3. Navagate to the files you want to share. Click on it. (If you want to upload more than one, hold down the shift key while clicking on them.) The file will then be uploaded to photobucket. 4. your photo(s) will come up. you can add names and descriptions here. Click "save". 5. Your phots will come up on a page titled "in this album". 6. Click on the photo. It will come up in a new window. On the lefthand side of the page is a box with a bunch of stuff in it. Click on "HTML Code". A little yellow box comes up saying "copied". 7. Now, go to your gardenweb post and wherever you want the photo, just hit CTRL and V keys at the same time and a bunch of jibberish will come up. (If not, you did not get the HTML code copied and pasted to your post.) 8. On gardenweb, hit the "preview message" button and you'll see your photo. While writing this tutorial, I walked through the process I use. There are many more ways to do it, I'm sure. There are lots more photo sites other than photobucket. I'm just telling you how I do it. Again, Welcome. Bkay Below, hopefully is the photo of one of my "unknown albo-marginata" that came from Sam's that I've had for years. I still love it. Comments (9)Caroline1... I think my plants only fruit until frost because they're not done producing by that time... I'm a zone 5er and don't usually get them in the ground until early June or so... I've tried with Romas, and I like them due to their low acidity, but I never seem to get them above 3' or so and I never seem to get them to give me everything they have... All year I'll only get around 15 or so maters per plant... I just keep trying new stuff and seeing if I can get more......See MoreAnother mislabeled ebay plant
Comments (1)I don't know what it is but I am sure that it is not an Itoh peony. THe leaves look to be herbaceous. I am not surprised that you would get a mislabeled peony via an unscrupulous ebay vendor....See MorePaul MI
