What to do after getting rid of Norton
Comments (17)you will need to run the norton removal tool for your version of norton and take some extra removal steps since norton does not remove fully by using the add remove programs option. Download and run the Norton Removal Tool you can also get the free REVO uninstaller and run it in addition which should help remove any of the extra bits. Revo Uninstaller You may also need to go into your explorer to program files and see if you still find norton or symantec listed there and delete those files. I use AVAST free for Antivirus, superantispyware and malwarebytes free for antimalware, sypwareblaster free for added protection (no scans to do with it just hit update once a week then enable all protection button) Zone alarm pro as my firewall but zone alarm free is good just be sure not to get any of the included extras like toolbars etc they try to give you during install. How to download and install Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware application for Windows computers SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition SpywareBlaster avast! Home Edition on the left on that page are 2 pdf files you will need to read one is how to install and insert your registration key and one is a user guide on how to use it. additional info for AVAST can be found here How to Install, Configure, and Use Avast Antivirus ZoneAlarm firewall - Tutorial...See MoreGetting rid of the white dust film on furniture
Comments (4)Soft rag dampened with water. Fold it so it is about the length of your hand. The more folds the better---since after each swipe, you need to change surfaces---unfold and refold. When all surfaces are used once, rinse out the rag, refold and rewipe. T%he second wipe will complete the cleanup. Towels work well. Old Tshirts (no art/printing/etc. are good. As an addition---I detest Pledge. It is complete crap---leaves build ups and makes any furniture finish repair much more difficult. The old non silicon paste wax is more work----but MUCH better and you don't have to apply paste wax nearly as much---just dust with a damp rag....See MoreConstruction Dust and Dirt - How to get rid of it?
Comments (4)If you decide to vaccum it, and I don't know of any other way to do it, you can use a shop vac. but you really should get a high density, disposable paper bag to put in the vac. It really does make a difference. Otherwise the finest dust just comes back into the room. After you've vacced and if things still seem dusty you might have to go over the walls, ceiling and floors with a damp rag. I do the walls and ceiling wiht a rag tied around either a broom or a dustmop....See MoreHow do you get rid of strong chemical odor from new cabinetry.
Comments (4)I agree with roarah. Debra Lynn-Dadd always advises heat to off-gas VOCs. Close off the bathroom, heat, air out, and repeat many times. When you're not doing a heating cycle, try to keep the window open and a fan blowing outside, or keep the bathroom fan running. Close and tape over the HVAC vents to and from that bathroom so that the fumes don't get around your house....See Morejellytoast
