Yes the bleach solution is the most effective way to disinfect your pruners but there are 2 things you should know: Bleach only disinfects "surfaces" so you should wipe off any dirt or plant debris on your pruners before dipping in the bleach solution (a cap full of bleach in a pint of water will be plenty strong). It only needs to be wet with this solution for 1 min. to be effective. Bleach solutions form Hypochlorous acid which is very corrosive to the metal in your pruners. After disinfecting, wipe your pruner dry with a clean paper towel. Then spray a metal parts with WD40 & work all moving parts (blade hinge, spring & lock)& reapply a little extra WD40 to these moving parts. Let sit for a few minutes & wipe down pruners so there is just a very light coating of WD40 left.

It depends on what you're gunning for when you "disinfect" the clothing. In a strictly technical sense even the stuff you washed with Lysol in the washer isn't "disinfected", or much less sterlized. (Lysol's disinfecting properties for laundry are over-rated. It does disinfect surfaces at high concentrations with a decent dwell time, but I doubt you'd achieve that in a washer unless you dumped a great deal of it the tub.) So, what are the things you want to make sure aren't on the clothes (whether water-washed or dry-cleaned): Lice or scabies parasites? Fleas or ticks (or their eggs and larva)? E.coli? Respiratory bacteria or viruses? Most of these will be controlled using heat, either water, steam or air. Obviously, if you wash the washable items and machine dry them at the high end of the temps they can take that will take care of those. For the so-called dry cleaned only items, I would simply take them all to the cleaners and let the steam drying and pressing that they will get there take care of it. if you don't want to go that far for yet- unworn items, then I would give some good sunning outdoors, for a day and them steam them with an iron. One thing I would do, though, for all woolen items is hang them out for a couple of days in below freezing, preferably below 0 degrees, Fahrenheit to kill any wool-eating case moth larvae. I find that is even more efective than washing the items, since with wool you can't do that at a very high temp. Luckily, the case moth eggs are killed by freezing. HTH, Molly

Use a good brush, and scrub using bleach if too big to submerge. It's worth to spend extra dollar on bleach to make sure it's clean/disinfected.
