Comments (8)The living room ceiling fan and the dining room chandelier are in close proximity. I thought I liked the crystal chandelier you posted, but it may not work with the fan's style. Pros on Houzz may have good advice. Maybe a chandelier with more of an iron look? Art.com has numerous art prints (giclee is best quality ), framed or unframed. Search the site for Italian landscapes; Italian villages, vinyards, etc. One artist I like is Max Hayslette; he's done several. Some are available as tapestries. Here are a few samples I found on a quick search. The 3rd one is an artist named Carol Jessen. You will have fun searching the web site....See MoreUpgrading unused Dining Room
Comments (20)Thank you! I will start with the chandelier as you said! What kind of curtains would you recommend ,I mean the fabric or the pattern? I mean I do not want absolute traditional vibe rather I want to mix it with something modern and sleek. That's my personal choice and I have to make it work with this traditional furniture. Also ,I do not prefer having an area rug. I am thinking to do some artwork as you said on one wall and on the other wall may be a rectangular mirror! What do you think? would that be too much clutter?? again the cabinet has to go out as well....See MoreHelp with dining room furniture dimensions and rug suggestions
Comments (3)Plan: table is 90” x 85” ; sideboard is 95” x 18”. I put sideboards at both ends of the room. I think it would be a nice balance. One could have.a paining over top/lamps and other will have the windows over top/two lamps. The rug in the plan is 8 x 10. If you custom cut, it could be smaller, but remember you want to keep chair legs on the rug when you pull them out. Concern: is the light centered? It may be the photo, but it looks off. None of the sideboards work for me…too rustic for the wainscoting. rug: Pottery Barn....See MoreUsing bedroom dresser as console table?
Comments (17)I think it depends on the context and scale and what's around it. It can work. I have an antique dresser in my family room which I use as a sort of "console" by the back door. I have some books on top and then for a while I had a mirror above that, to reflect the view from the opposite sliding doors and give the impression of a window. Looked good. I also have a small dresser used as a console in the dining room. Both are lovely wood antique pieces so I agree with the others, that dresser you posted a picture of is a show off piece, so by all means show it off. I keep linens in my dressers and they are great for that!!...See MoreRelated Professionals
