Help no entryway with five kids furniture layout help
Comments (15)Most definitely, the design challenge for living rooms that have no foyer and is a walk thru room is to create that cosy feeling. The configuration of your room should be flipped. The long sleek sofa should be on the long sleek wall. By relocating the sofa, a foyer is created with a sofa table under the window with the bench under it and a closed wood cabinet backing up the sofa. Walking into a solid piece of wood furniture will ground the space and define the seating. There is 4'-0" clearance from the front door wall and the edge of the sofa and don't forget that everything is low (30" - 33") so there isn't an obstruction. Also creating the foyer forces a specific space for all that stuff we all walk in with when we get home. In the plan note that the blue line indicates the tv (sorry for moving all those wires). The red lines indicate art/mirrors. By relocating the tv on the staircase wall, it allows easy access to the closet under the stairs, creates a reading nook at the window, and allows room for another lounge chair and ottoman near the stairs. It looks good, too. Consider painting the wall behind the tv from the window to the staircase an interesting color, wallpaper or wall treatment. this way that wall will be pleasing to look at. Here's the plan, the best I could figure out without measurements. Looks like a very big sofa so a 12' sofa is in the plan. The rug should be a 9 x 12 in front of the sofa and a runner at the front door running side to side.Of course you will have to verify the measurements to make sure this will work. The nice thing about furniture is that you can move it around! Hope this helps....See MoreHelp!!! This entrance needs help!
Comments (7)Aside from the shrubs, as is, I like this entrance. If and when your shrubs grow and fill in between them and you can trim them a uniform height just above the floor level, that will be an improvement. Perhaps you could move the shrubs closest to the railing to a bare spot between the other shrubs. Adding a pair of large planters -- one on each side of the steps -- with something to add color could improve curb appeal. There are pressed metal exterior wall decorations that might be added to the brick -- either on each side of the opening or something (for instance, a sun) above it. https://www.google.com/search?biw=1366&bih=650&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=mo5aWq3LHIfq_AbCx6y4CQ&q=image+pressed+metal+art+sun&oq=image+pressed+metal+art+sun&gs_l=psy-ab.3...3441.3954.0.6553.4.4.0.0.0.0.76.282.4.4.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.0.0....0.BYK8FJEkONU...See MoreHELP! Comments (11)Make things you walk on one finish and things you walk through another finish, it will help to alleviate any confusion if such issue arrises. The trim acts as a frame to present doors and windows and such and should have some continuity in the interior design of the home....See MoreHelp with entry and curb appeal
Comments (19)Well, that’s an amazing drawing tool you have. I love the drawing with the awning and the white arch. I would like to add an arch at the side steps, and I would like to keep the railing instead of the low wall. In addition, I would like to add a set of steps at the front arch, for convenience and curb appeal. See my facade (sorry, it’s very grainy) and my inspiration photo with my ideal arches below. Thank you!...See MoreRelated Professionals
