Please help identify the art work

I have this large artwork, about 30" by 20". Tried but cannot find the artists. It is signed by I cannot understand the signature. And another one that is eligibly signed but cannot find the artist. It says Carol Gordkind, the art piece is Mesopotamia 1. Does it simply means that the artist is not famous?

Share please if you know any info about them!

The world is full of people making woodcuts and signing them and framing them and assembling collages and framing them. Think of all the universities that have art departments and offer advanced degrees, and add all the small art schools around the world....and all the matures.
There is a tremendous amount of "art" out there by people who are not "famous".
If you can't find the names in a data base I would assume you have something of that sort.
If you like them, hang and enjoy.

You could use a much shorter lamp there to get rid of it blocking the view. However, it seems like a piece of art centered on that wall might not work......... that wall is basically the dividing line between two different rooms, right? (Yes, it's a great room... but the way the furniture is.... it just seems divided.) I would be confused about what to put up for that reason alone.... :) Personally, I would do a grouping of mirrors.... Something hung like these "Garden District" mirrors from Ballard: I'm not sure if the dimensions on these particular ones are right for your space, but I think something similar could work and look very nice.

Too high, too small ; I agree with all of the above. Above the mantle is prime space/location, you shouldn't have to merchandise around the picture to make it look right. I disagree with adding more matting, possibly you should look for a print that can be framed with all of the image showing, this particular print looks like the matting is hiding some of the picture by cutting off parts of the trees, not too effective, imo. The colors do work in your room, the red is great.

Thanks everyone ... I appreciate all the help and compliments I received on this! The rug isn't new, but it was my 3rd try until I got it "right" You know I didn't even think to move the picture up a little, to cover the box, but I will definitely do that. Unfortunately my whole house needs to be rewired, so I will have many more of these type holes to patching paint!

This is a very rough and quick attempt to illustrate what I think both the previous comments are aiming that -- not the perfect solution, but the point is that the stuff on the dresser is badly arranged. You need two centres of interest, one clustering around the lamp (which shouldn't be so close to the edge) and one on the other side of the dresser. Hang the art between them. In this example, below, we are missing the taller item you need on the right to balance the lamp.

Solved? Google does not give me a "Carol Goodkind artist" - only that a person has that name.

she can contact the person by that name in several ways, such as facebook, and ask directly.

There are hundreds of persons with that name....no way to contact anyone who just perhaps might be a collage artist.
Problem is not solved.

In my view, this is a silk screen print. I googled her name and silkscreen artist and got the listing below. You probably have to subscribe to the paper to read the article. She may or may not have her work at the Museum. Her name may appear in an article printed near the first. Anyway, it's a place to start.
