Local nurseries in spring are best to find decent priced banana plants. I have not had an luck with buying them online in CA. SDC and dwarf cavendish are mostly what you will see around. I'm in Newmarket and have some dwarf cavendish pups outside for sale if interested?? sdc won't ave pups till next year.

Hey Matt, That sounds like a fun experiment... I usually work in different parts of Toronto so I can probably pass by one day after work. Do you mind putting it in a small pot for me with some soil and obviously I'd pay whatever the cost is for your pup, soil, and a pot that I can keep him in until spring/summer. Also, have you had any success with eating your fruit and how tall would you say it is to produce fruit, 5-7 feet? Thanks again!

I have one DC that was planted in the ground in my greenhouse end of May it now stands at 5 feet of just stem. leaves are another story LOL Yes that height is about right for flowering. If I can get it to hold on for winter I might see a flower in the spring. In our climate it can take up to 2-4 years to get fruit depending on how well it's cared for.
