Are under mount Sinks hard to keep clean?
Comments (9)I have an undermount, with what I think they call a "slight reveal" in that the hole in the granite is big enough that a tiny bit of the "lip" of the sink is still visible. So there is no crevice hidden below where "stuff" can get. It is super easy to clean, and though the "line" is not as sophisticated looking as it would be with zero reveal, it is so easy to keep clean that I like it this way. With zero reveal, you SHOULD also have no problem, as long as the curved edge of the sink is caulked, and they cut the granite perfectly. With a negative reveal, you can end up with a little area underneath that is hard to see, and so may not stay clean....See MoreDrip ledge under Apron Sink
Comments (6)I agree it is beautiful. I preferred a scribed edge so I didn't do this. But there's no doubt it's gorgeous. It's also functional for some who splash for whatever reason. We have no splashing so it's not an issue for us. It would definitely be another thing to dust regularly, but in this day of swiffers? easy....See MoreLedge sink reveal question
Comments (10)We went with a zero reveal and like it very much: The corners on the sink are not 90º, but they're not too far off. The edges on both the sink and the countertop are "eased." As far as the countertop edges, that's really just a matter of preference. We like simple, so we went with eased (which may be the same as or close to "pencil"), as it matches the style of our kitchen. If I were choosing between bullnose and 1/2 bullnose, I'd go with 1/2. A drip running off a 1/2 bullnose will get to the bottom edge and drop to the floor. A drip running off a bullnose is likely to keep running around the edge until it gets to the cabinet face and then run down that way. Ogee edges are very compatible with traditional kitchens. This particular ogee I don't find very attractive, but hopefully your fabricator offers one that is more pleasing. You might want to take a trip to his/her showroom to see what they offer....See MoreHas anyone used a Create Good sink?
Comments (19)lexma90 I always leave the drying rack on the ledge. To get it out of the way, I fold it in half or thirds or you can roll it up and place it to the side of the sink. Or, if you like to keep your sink empty you could store it in the dishwasher until you need that space. It's wet most of the time so I don't like to put it in a cabinet and I use it a lot. I keep the cutting board on the ledge a lot but will also put it away in the tray divider area. You can use the drying rack for rinsing some veggies and fruit, too. It's an adjustment, but so far I love not having a dish drain on the counter. I'm also "encouraging" my husband to put his dirty dishes in the DW immediately after use as they don't have to be pre-washed in the sink. In fact, the DW works better if the dishes are dirty and not pre-washed.....I keep telling him. Old habits die hard. LOL Since the sink is wide and deep, I can wash bigger items and let something drain on the sink grid....See MoreJim F
