Comments (9)Hi Pam, thanks. I changed my preferences to show my addy to members. It had alread been set up to allow the emails to be sent through this site, and then if I (or any given member) reply a person gets the email address, and I get theirs if they reply. Not sure if you knew that -- just click on the My Page for anyone (or their screen name), and click Send Me An Email right next to See My Trade List. Actually I was surprised that you posted a response here rather than doing it that way (I chanced on it, it doesn't notify anyone other than the person who started the thread). I went with this way to reduce email address "robot harvesting" since they display the email addy as text not an image. So We'll if there's an increase in spam with this new setting. I may have to change it back later. anyway :) ...Thanks so much!!! --Tina...See Morechristmas cactus vs thanksgiving, holiday cactus
Comments (32)I have two hanging cactus plants that I would like to identify. The plants resemble Christmas etc only one has very large leaves and blooms with tiny little pale yellow blooms all around the leaf at each point. the other has smaller twisted leaf with a yellow bloom at the end of a stem and then a round bulbus growth in it's place. I can take pictures of them as they are now, but lost pictures of the blooms when my computer crashed. Thanks for any help you can give....See MorePoinsettias, Holiday Cactus, Christmas Cactus ...

Comments (9)Impntestells I agree-moving around is no good but I'm this case I felt necessary. I acclimate my succulent family outside in May-when weather permits. We had two fantastic weeks of beautiful warm weather and unexpectedly got hit with temperatures dropping below 45. I didn't think that would be too good for my a plant trying to bloom for 5 days straight temps getting close to the 30s-but I could be and probably am wrong. Other succulents/cacti that I have are more tolerate but from what I've read that could have been detrimental to this species. It's facing the same direction of light both inside and outside-I realize a windows are a big factor there but I didn't want to harm this cactus due to the low temperatures. I researched and what I found said not to let the temps get below 45 for this particular plant. Once it is back in the high 70s, I will be moving back outside. I am not keeping it inside for the summer unless that's just what's suppose to be done for this plant year round-I have read otherwise. I have great success to be such a newbie and in my free time I research and research. Thanks for your input-I just felt the need to explain my reasoning for moving around....See MoreChrissy- zone6B/7A
