Panel-Ready Cabinet Depth Fridge -- Dacor --Any others out there?
Comments (5)I've been doing the research on several fridges myself for a remodel and have decided on the panel ready KA KFCO22EVBL. Depends on your cabinet maker as to the costs of the individual panels but 18' appliance handles are about $110 each depending also on the finish. I finally found one on display today and it was a decent fridge. Nothing like Subzero, of course, but less than half the price! There,of course, with difference in the hinge of the Subzero that pulls the door out a inch or two to prevent the door from touching or scraping the cabinetry. Nice, but not worth an extra $3000....See MoreIntegrated warming drawer with moisture control? Does it exist?
Comments (5)Moist/Crisp is just a lever that allows steam to escape out some holes or keeps it in. If you intend to use your warming drawer for crisping crackers and holding Belgian waffles, you might want the holes. For holding plates of dinner, you don't want them so it won't dry out. My Monogram warming drawer is integrated and does have the lever. I haven't actually had occasion to use it, however. The waffles all disappear before they can go in the warming drawer! So I can't tell you how well it works, but the lever is there. The holes open at the top, and allow the moisture to escape between the front wall of the drawer and the cabinet panel, and (at least in theory), out the holes in the bottom, just as it would if it had the stainless front (it actually comes with the stainless front so they don't have to stock the panel ready units separately or something). The Monogram WD (when I bought it a couple of years ago) also had the best temperature range (80-ish for plate warming to well over 200 for holding dense meats), and wasn't fussed up with digital controls. Just a knob labelled Lo, Med, Hi, a switch, and a red indicator light to show it was on. A warming drawer is simple and adding computers to it is silly, in my book. Be aware that with integrating into inset cabinets you'll need extra deep cabinetry. Most integrated cabinets are done with the face set at 25". You'd need the frame set at that depth as well, and some interior anchors. I believe it's the Dacor warming drawer that is a little shallower front to back and easier to get flush into stock cabinetry....See MoreIntegrated fridge depth next to counter top
Comments (7)I too have the same concern, we did Thermador integrated panel ready, the contractor has part of the box constructed and the framing for the fridge is flush with the lower cabinet, the fridge is at the end of a 36 inch cabinet/counter run, and I'm worried that the countertop is going to stick out past the panel fridge doors? We really wanted that seamless look, but I'm worried our cabinet guy didn't factor in clearance for the counter overhang? will it look weird for the countertop do be proud of the panel fridge door, or will the panel/door hinge help factor in that 3/4 inch of countertop, I'm fine if it's flush, but I'm worried it won't be? The fridge is the end piece on that wall, so it might not look weird...but??? Any advice? Worst case scenario we make them redo the framing for the fridge to be flush with counter?...See MoreFridge - counter depth, 36"....suggestions? (+/- panel ready)
Comments (4)It's been about 5 years since I did the kitchen - so I don't remember all the terminology. Our floor plan is open so I wanted the kitchen to look as "clean" as possible. I saved a bit of money going with a Liebherr counter depth with a cabinet panel put on. It has one door. Capacity is a bit smaller than some of the models I looked at. Did not go with the bio fresh - but this frig keeps veggies and fruits fresh much longer than any other frig I've owned. Has been working well for 5 years - no problems....See MoreFori
