Looking for Sherwin Williams equivalent to BM Coventry Gray
Comments (9)The answer to your question, what is the SW equivalent to BenM's Coventry Gray: SW 7065 ARGOS Sherwin Williams Color ΔE = 1.5 SW 2850 CHELSEA GRAY Sherwin Williams Color ΔE = 1.6 The long answer: Sherwin-Williams doesn't really have a good color match for Coventry Gray. There is rarely a true match from one brand to the other. All we can do is search and find Sherwin-Williams colors that are closest to Coventry Gray. Delta E is a metric that indicates the color difference between two colors. Argos has a delta E of 1.5 and Chelsea Gray 1.6. That means the difference between those colors and Coventry Gray is going to be obvious to anyone with good color acuity. This is the scale: Delta E value Meaning 0- 1 A normally invisible difference 1 - 2 Very small difference, only obvious to a trained eye 2 - 3.5 Medium difference, also obvious to an untrained eye 3.5 - 5 An obvious difference > 6 A very obvious difference...See MoreQuestions about Sherwin Williams paint "Mindful Gray"
Comments (7)Oh, that "greige" word. :) No one knows what the hell it means. Just like "undertones", no one knows what that means either. Greige and undertones are words people use to describe how they're personally perceiving color because they don't have a proper vocabulary to speak to color. And most people don't have a proper vocabulary to speak to color because most people aren't crazy color freaks. As far as warm or cool, that's another one that throws normal people for a loop. Most people think you split a color wheel in half and the side with red, orange and yellow is warm and the other side with green, blue and purple is cool. Nope. Warm and cool is a spectrum within each hue. There are warm yellows and cool yellows. Warm blues and cool blues. You get the idea. Mindful Gray belongs to the yellow hue family and in context of - and compared to - other colors in the whole entire yellow hue family, Mindful Gray is warmer. You can see how that plays out on this here color wheel. And I think it's a lovely exterior color because it's not too light, not too dark but of course it all depends on any fixed elements you have like brick, stone, the roof and whether or not Mindful harmonizes nicely with those....See MoreWhat paint color Sherwin Williams would work for grey island
Comments (3)That's sort of hard without seeing the rest of the kitchen. Our kitchen is SW "Site Gray" with a slightly darker accent (the color name is escaping me right now)....See MoreWhich Sherwin Williams white paint color to get this look?
Comments (22)And I also caution you to evaluate your paint with all samples of all hard elements together - so any wood, stone, tile, carpet, major textiles like sofas, bedding, etc ALL together at the same time...again, pure white is great for cabinets and trim but something soft and not so bright for the walls will look more pulled together and ‘finished’. Your first inspiration pic where all walls and trim in all one color is not a bright white like Pure White. Your second inspiration pic which shows only trim/wainscot is probably a brighter white like Pure White however then I ask what was the wall color used with it and with what other fixed materials? If you want a complete white on white look like your first pic you will need to go darker than Pure White (IMO and Maria Killams:)...See MoreCJ
