In our humble opinion you have made an excellent choice with both tables. The style of your cabinetry is complimented by the dark tone of the round table and the chairs, and the dining ensemble is a bit darker but it still matches. Your house will look great.

@Mary Tillios thank you, to clarify, we're using just one type of subway tile in one bathroom. I'm debating using it at all because we already have a different type of white subway tile in another bathroom upstairs. I was wondering if it will look like the renovations were done by different homeowners or done at very different times, because the wall tile I have is the super plain, cheap white subway and the one installed in the upstairs bathroom is pricier with a undulated look to it .

We have a similar situation. Our lot has an upward slope behind the house and has a downward slope toward the back of the house to our south. Originally our builder told us that the other lot would be a walkout and this lot would only have lookout windows in the basement. So, we chose the other lot. Then of course the city engineers set them straight and told them the lot we chose could only be lookout (for 2-story) and the lot we are currently on would be below grade for all but the nw corner. We still decided to change to this current lot because it was a much better one and we ended up modifying the basement by adding a walk-up on that corner. We have a love/hate relationship with it. It has a drain to a sump pump to handle rain water, but the builder and the city never handled the drainage in this neighborhood properly, so it’s not perfect. We have had water in the basement for various reasons, usually sump fails, but still love having the patio door there for daylight and access. We still love this lot better, and recently reminisced that we would always have regretted not changing lots. This one is bigger and shares a nice wooded knoll of sugar maples. The people that ended up with the other lot built a side split, so they have a walkout from their family room level. They do sometimes have a soggy yard at the back of their lot when we have a lot of wet weather, especially since the guy who built on the lot behind him modified his drainage improperly and the city looked the other way (pool guy couldn’t build an in-ground pool, so he built an above ground pool and backfilled around it.🤬). So, the shorter answer is that they both have pros & cons, but I’d encourage you to go to the site and choose the one that on balance you’d prefer for the span of your life there.
