Your rose looks similar to a rose in the Sacramento Cemetery, our found rose, "Dr Peck's 12th Avenue Smoothie" is thornless, once blooming. Very fragrant. This found rose is thought to be the same as the Charles Lawson in commerce. Below is a link to a photo I took in the cemetery a few years ago. I liked this rose so much that I propagated it and planted it in my yard even though it is a once bloomer. It is quite vigorous and now takes up the back corner along the fence. Vinyl, fiberglass, wood, or metal can all hold up swimmingly in that climate. What will not is a poor quality product regardless of material. I'd recommend heeding the recommendation from Ultra Windows above as he's located in your region. I'd also reinforce the quality aspect, and quality/performance often go hand in hand. Lastly, if you are worried about sweating, look at the condensation resistance ratings (CR) as they will tell that story specifically. A surface 4 interior low e coating would be something to avoid if that is an issue for you in the colder months.

That's a tricky one being your husband probably wont like bright colored door to make the house pop. My first thought was a real or turquoise, but thinking about your husband not liking bright colors, black is the only thing that comes to mind.
