Luminette cost?
Comments (23)I just had the HD guy here yesterday because I have about 8 window treatments that I originally ordered through Lowes. They have a lesser model HD that will only last you about 5-6 years with moderate wear. Anyway, the HD guy said that Luminettes for my bedroom picture window going from ceiling to floor (8 feet tall) would be about 4800. These have a wide "stack", so mine would extend out beyond the side of the window. I believe it's a 17" stack, which is pretty considerable -- more like a heavy drape. -- Oh, and BTW, yes Lowes says theyre warranteed for life, and I had them sent back to the manufacturer TWICE, and they broke TWICE. It takes about 16 weeks after the Lowes person actually can come out to your house to collect the blind....See MoreHanging drapes over existing sheers
Comments (9)That pic is a bit hard to see where it was taken against the light coming in. I should have realized that the sheers would be a bit dressier than I was thinking, with the pleats. I can 'see' if the sheers were just gathered on a rod, but I don't know if I an picture panels over the pleated sheers until we have more info. Do you intend to put panels just on the ends for color? One panel at each end that would just hang there, or do you plan to have panels that you would draw closed over the sheers? I tried to find examples of both, but didn't find as many as I'd hoped. This is the only example I found with pleated sheers, both hung at the same height....See MoreTile: HELP- Encore Ceramics, Sheer glaze in Hydrangea and Robin's Egg
Comments (9)I was just thinking that the specs must be somewhere and found them in the Encore online catalogue, which states that "Our tile is vitreous and frost resistant. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications , areas that experience freeze/thaw conditions, water applications (baths, pools, saunas, steam rooms, fountains, showers), fireplaces and light traffic floors......." Regarding sealing, they suggest the tile needs to be sealed before install (and then after so grout is sealed) and that you should then follow sealing manufacturer suggestions on any future sealing. I need to ask my tile guy about that. The good news is that they are safe for wet applications! https://issuu.com/encoreceramics/docs/2017_catalog/54...See MoreLuminette Sheers - recommendation?
Comments (2)Wow I can't believe no one has responded? Ok, I had a Luminette for quite a few years in my Master Bedroom and loved it. They look great and operate well. Then the problem came in the form of 2 cats for my kids. They both had dark fur and they loved to come into the bedroom and go behind the Luminette. Their hair would stick to the Luminette fabric and was a bitch to try and get off. So there is some of the good and bad. Now I have put Luminettes in many peoples homes and they always look great. You can get it motorized if you want and if you would like to add a hub, you can even operate it over a smart phone. You can program it to open at a certain time or to close if you want and it will even work with Nest now. You can also just use the remote control if you want to keep it simple but motorized. So lot's of options but they are pricey! The good news it that right now, as long as you buy from a dealer that is at least a Priority Dealer, you can get $150 rebate. Here is a link with the details. https://www.hunterdouglas.com/campaign/2017-smart-shades-rebate-promotion Now if you want to look at options for sliders I recommend you read this blog post. It may give you a few other ideas that are not as expensive. https://dressthatwindow.com/i-hate-verticals-what-else-is-there-for-sliding-glass-doors/ Motorized Luminette with Drapery Side Panels and Cornice - Vanes Open With Vanes Closed Anyway Luminettes are great as long as you don't have pets or young children that will be a problem. They are expensive but if your budget permits, I think you will love them. Good Luck!...See MoreWindow Designs Etc. by Marie Mouradian
