I'll second that! I loved this book and it had a joyfulness and playfulness to it that seems to be lacking in his most recent books (IMHO). Highly recommended!

I've read all his earlier books and found them to be hilarious.

But this one is about a kid's point of view which makes it funnier in a different way !

I'll second, or third, the above comments. I particularly enjoyed 'Notes from a Small Island' where he takes the p*** out of the foibles of us slightly mad English people.

I've enjoyed all of his books, particularly this one and In A Sunburned Country.

A Walk In The Woods is a great one also.......and the movie version of it was unforgiveably hideous. There should have been someone who nipped that in the bud. The casting was awful and they destroyed the story.

Neither Here Nor There was the first of his books which I read and was introduced to his crazy friend Katz. It completely sold me on Bill Bryson from that point on !
