In my opinion, the framing around the mirror should match your cabinet, assuming it is wood. As far as fixtures and lighting, I think they should match. We redid our powder room last year and are now revamping our hall/guest bathroom, so I understand you concerns.

Thank you, Joseph. I was also thinking of the same thing. If I do that the side splashes will be lower than the backsplash (the thickness of the vanity top). Will that look bad? Is there some filler I can add below the side splash to make it flush with the backsplash?

That sink has the counter all in one You get a piece of stone cut to fit I do it all the time or just keep the all in one . The vanity can handle any stone you choose .
