Cellular shades - 3/8" double or 3/4" single?

I've decided to buy cellular shades for my bedroom and kitchen and am stumped on which size. For the bedroom I'm planning sun up/sun down shades, which have black-out and light-filtering on the same shade. The kitchen will be light filtering over some windows and a glass door.

Here's the dilemma:

3/4" single shades:

  • Less pleats have a cleaner look and less places to catch dust (my big dog generates tons of dust)
  • Lighter weight, especially for the sun up/down shades (which are essentially 2 shades on 1 rail). Maybe not a huge consideration for me.
  • One issue is the colors. The black-out shades have a lining that makes the lighter colors turn silvery. I wanted cream, but the cream looks gray. So I'd probably go with a more tan color. The bedroom has a lot of window for a small room, so the shade color will have a big impact.
  • Another issue is less insulation (bedroom windows are original and 100 years old)

3/8" double shades

  • Don't need the lining, so the colors look nicer
  • Better insulation
  • Concerned they'll get dusty and be harder to clean
  • Heavier

What would you do?

3/4" single with creamery top and bottom. In theory the same color, but the bottom looks gray:

3/4" single with macaroon on the bottom (more tan)

3/8" double. The samples are definitely thicker and harder to maneuver.

Bedroom in question. The walls are BM Newburg Green.

Thanks in advance!
