Check with the tile experts to be sure, but I believe that I have read that you do not want to be the first customer that your tiler has ever used epoxy grout with. Let him experiment elsewhere and know what he is doing before doing yours. That said, Marty 180, everything I have read in my research on redoing my bathroom leads me to believe that if you are going to have tile in a shower, epoxy grout is the only way to go! Personally, I am not going to have tile. I am not a good enough cleaner to deal with it. My lungs can't use most cleansers and my hands and wrists can't scrub. I give in. Solid surface, here I come!

THANKS for this thread! Am done with the kitchen except for the tile. Like so many of you, I have creamy white cabinets, Barroca soapstone, and wood floors. I always pictured a fancy backsplash in my kitchen. However, I chose the beautiful La Cornue Cornufe 43" stove in Provence Blue. It is so pretty. I knew I wanted 2 x 8 subway tile for the kitchen but I always pictured having a cute little 1/2 inch stick trim all over and also some sort of decorative backsplash. However, the trim would probably go through ALL of my outlets and look all broken up. Any design on the backsplash would be upstaged by the stove. Now I see that just having plain subway tile is classy. Will probably do a pot rack and hang a few pretty things over the stove. It really helped me to see the different variations that everyone has posted-- crackle, gloss, matte, beveled edge, handmade slightly irregular tile vs. having more uniform size of tile, various types of grout, sizes of tile, etc. I have always liked the Mission Tile West (Pasadena, CA) Revival line; am looking at their 2 X 8. It's really flat, not so cushioned on the edges, and I can have really thin grout. It should look a lot like the Ann Sacks Heath photo except for more uniform size and a little glossier. Will try to post a photo when we are done!

I too couldn’t find photos of glass tile with gray grout. All the photos I found had white grout. To add to my dilemma, the glass tile is textured. I’m currently renovating our bathroom and my designer suggested it. I’m not sure about it.

not contributing anything new-darker, or rather contrasting, grout when you want to emphasize the shape or the pattern of the tile, blending-close to the color of the given tile grout-if you don't here's another thought for you..light gray/bone will be probably fine. the darker you take it-the stronger the contrast. which might be amazing looking and all but take into consideration-not everybody is doing great with high contrast, especially very dark and very light together, colors and lines interchanging frequently as in with the grout and tiles..it makes a lot of people dizzy-not good for a space like a bathroom where you'd rather not feel dizzy if it was for your own enjoyment and you handle high contrast well-go for it if it's for resale-take into consideration a pretty big amount of people that will find it hard on their eyes i also wanted to go with contrasting grout..fortunately i realized i'd be the first to fall in my own shower, surrounded by this striking geometry again, if it's just a tad darker color though-it will probably look cool and still be fine with the majority of the buyers
