Too late to save? Rose of Sharon 911

Hi all,

I got 2 rose of Sharon plants plant in the summer and planted them in my backyard. They were fairly healthy however they quickly started to deteriorate, looked dry despite watering and lost leaves and very few blooms. I tried to give them lots of water and fertilized them gently but regularly. All of my other new additions of the summer are perfectly healthy.

But my blue hibiscus are seemingly dead. Are these beyond help? I was thinking of digging them up and putting them in pots for the winter (hearty in my zone though)

what should I do?

ps: this started in July or August when I planted. It has had absolutely no new growth despite my efforts
