Farewell to a funny little house
Comments (13)I thought they looked like cowboys earlier years than we were guessing. I still haven't shown it to my husband. But I was thinking more like the days of Gene Autry , one named something Nicks(sp) . These guys are even older. Very interesting though. Wonder if the person who painted the house was just a fan or if he had some conection to the actors. What a shame it was tore down before some History was written about it. patti...See MoreFarewell to my gardening greyhound
Comments (15)I am so sorry for your loss. This is one of the most painful/emotional things we go through. Rainbow Bridge rips your heart out and comforts at the same time. I did not post here, but last Christmas eve I had to have my Snickers (cocker) put down. She was the last connection with my DH. I like to think they are together. Everyone is different. Over the years I have learned that the best way to move on is to get another pup. I can't stay sad with a puppy bouncing around. Thus I got Maeve. I often think I hear Snickers trotting to the bedroom with me. My wonderful vet of over 30 years died suddenly Aug. 7. They always sent a card. And he also took care of the cremations for me. In additon to being our vet he was a close friend to my DH and me. Many hugs my friend. Kathy...See MoreWell, it finally happened. Farewell, Vintage Gardens webpage.
Comments (15)The Friends of Vintage Roses has some of the catalogs. They took possession of them and, I believe, the website as well as the physical roses. They had them for sale at the Celebration of Roses and our Sacramento Open Garden. Before that, Gregg very kindly gave a few of them for sale by the Historic Rose Garden. I still have a small stack of those treasures! So if any of you are desperate for the hard copy of the catalog, there is hope. Recently their website hasn't had all of the content about the roses so I had been referring to it less and less often, and using the book more and more. What a wonderful thing it is....See MoreObama's farewell address
Comments (130)The ironic thing is that ACA was pretty much based on Heritage foundation (rightwing) think tank legislation .... like what Romney did in Massachusetts. In other words - that WAS the republican plan, and if had been called Romneycare or Trumpcare, yall would be quite happy with it. Me, I would have preferred single payer option "medicare for all" -basic barebones plan, which would allow people to supplement with their own private plans, as needed (like Medicare). So don't blame me. All I can say is that if you repubs & trumpvoters out there want to keep Medicare, social security (next up on the chopping block) then its gonna be up to YOU to make it known to your legislators and scream it from the rooftops. We on the "other side" cant do it singlehandedly - frankly we have very little political power now. So, guys - Its up to YOU. Already.... and actually for some time.... the propaganda is kicking in to convince everyone that SS & Meidcare is broke (it isn't and wont be with a few minor tweaks) and that it needs to be phased out....Wall St., has been itching to get at those funds for a long time. No coincidience that the Trump govt has about 8 goldman sachs alumni. I liked Obama and will miss him - he has a dry humor that at times I find quite hilarious. Its sad that people claim to not like him or what he says, but then wont listen to anything he says in his own words. My sibs for instance will only listen to what Limbaugh & Hannity tell them that Obama says. They play short clips out of context to make it sound like hes saying something else besides what hes really saying. Sorry I have no respect for that type of opinion. Whether left or right, or any shade in between you need to hear what someone says, in the context of what theyre saying. Only then do you have any credibility to judge....See Moremushcreek
