Mid century mod decor with contemporary gray floor & espresso kitchen?

I seem to love two things that don't go together: mid century mod + contemporary grays and espresso. Below, is the kitchen and flooring. The floor, in person, is actually a brown/grayish color - gray with subtle brown tones. Open floor format - adjacent to the great room where I keep wanting to incorporate mid century modern decor. Planning to get a dark gray sofa, spruce it up with the same 'pops-of-color' throw pillows shown in photo further down below. Even further down are photos of accent chairs I love. I'm an especial sucker of that mid century pea green color. The problem is, mid century decor often means some lighter wood look that I'm afraid would clash with the espresso kitchen and gray floors. Harder to find mid century decor/furniture with darker wood to match the espresso. Is there a way to make this work or is it just impossible? Ideas for bringing these together?
