Benjamin Moore Grey colors to complement navy blue front door

I would love to get recommendations for neutral or warm grey BM paint colors that would look nice with our navy blue front door.

Chelsea Gray HC-168

Cinder AF705

Geddy Gray CW-720

Our house is usually in full sun, it has a large overhang on the front door side as well as the back patio which makes that siding appear darker. We are planning to paint all of the window trim white as well as the fascia boards, and overhangs.

The grey color would go on the actual siding only. We are currently looking at BM Chelsea Gray, Geddy Gray or Cinder. We thought about Amherst Gray (HC-167) and Kendall Charcoal (HC-166) but they both seem like they might be too dark. We don't want a light grey because it might look too washed out and would blend in too much with the cement driveway.

Any recommendations? We are thinking a warm medium grey would complement the navy blue door and at the same time would complement the white windows and trim.

I would look to Sherwin Williams for the perfect in-between gray. I love Ben Moore but they're lacking a full range of grays. GL :)

Decor4fun, I'm not a good enough visualizer to imagine all of that at once -- at least well enough to give good advice. I will say though that I would try to keep things simple as far as color is concerned because you already have a lot going on with the room flow and angles of your walls. The personal color viewer on the BM site was really helpful for me. We went with Affinity colors too -- harmony and did an accent wall that was interlude. We have a vaulted living room and decided to leave the slanted ceiling the off white color it already is to accent the architecture. Also, we were absolutely shocked at how much darker the color made the room at night. The white walls we previously had reflected a lot of light around the room. Our colors are in the taupe/tan family so we didn't expect that. Also, whatever you do, if you use more than one color in the same family, pick two that are at least one color away from each other on the swatches (not right next to each other), otherwise it looks sort of ridiculous. best wishes!

I used oyster shell in a south-facing room (future office) and although I loved the color one good size drywall sample, it looks quite green on the wall (closer to mint than gray). I'm in the process of choosing a different color for this space.

@jinx thank you! The first image you posted is where I got the inspiration for the Whitestone porch and Normandy siding. Just was hoping to go with a yellow for the door instead of the Rust but unsure if it actually goes well. So hard to tell from the little squares on the house!

@Jan Moyer Thank you for the information! This bathroom is also gorgeous!! I am happy to report that I have all my final selections made (besides paint). I have lived with my tile samples a few days and I will be going with a 12 x 24 dolomite look porcelain for the bathroom floor and shower walls. The shower floor will be a 1 inch hexagon mosaic that coordinates with the 12 x 24. I also have my sample of the vanity which is listed as "graphite." I am going to do the top of the shower bench, shower curb, and vanity countertop in white quartz which has a slight gray speckle to it if you look really closely. I didn't like the veining of the faux marble quartz and thought it would clash too much with the dolomite look in the shower. I am attaching a photo of the samples for reference. In person the tile looks like it has a taupe or greige vein to it. Do you have any BM suggestions with all of this? I definitely want something on the lighter/white side. I will also have recessed lighting and an LED medicine cabinet with polished chrome faucet and shower fixtures. The sink and toilet are both Kohler white. Thank you again!

Would also like recommendations for white trim colors to match Anderson 100 windows. Decorators white looked like a close match but will that be too bright?

Chelsea Gray and Decorator's White - I'd test those two first and I'd be lookin' to make sure there's enough contrast between the front door and Chelsea.

Thank you Lori. What about a lighter gray like Pewter or coventry gray or stonington gray? Those might blend in too much with cement color? What do you think of Chantilly Lace instead of Decorators White? More of a true white? I will need to test it out next to the window frames.

The one that matches the windows the best. Uninterrupted flow in terms of color (white) between the window frame and the trim is going to look really nice because it's going to bump up the perceived proportion of the windows.

Pewter 2121-30 belongs to the PB hue family (purple-blue). Lovely color as long you know what you're getting in terms of PB. Coventry could look blue in certain light.

If I were to invest in samples out of the choices listed, I'd buy Chelsea, Stonington and Amherst. It's a nice group to compare.

Great job of narrowing down the colors! Chelsea Gray HC-168 is a great neutral gray that’s popular for exteriors. Cinder AF-705 takes on a purplish hue in comparison to Chelsea Gray however can work with your navy door. Geddy Gray CW-720 is very similar to Chelsea Gray which also makes it a great, and a safe choice. Be sure to view it next to your door to ensure there’s enough contrast between the gray and the blue.
