Sweet! Looks ya'll picked a great location. I don't know who pulled the trigger on New Harvest but that was an excellent call. Oddly enough, Lavonne and I may be up that way on Memorial Day weekend. Since we are turning 50 this year she wants to go to the mountains and hike the Chimney's because she's never done it before. So we might actually be there Sunday! Our legs may be jelly so we'll probably need wheelchairs, walkers and assistance just to move though.

The Knoxville swap was a blast!! My neighbor Jan came up with me , it was her first swap and she is hooked!! She said my "plant swapin friends" were the nicest people she had ever met. I think she'll be back, lol. Cheryl -- thank you for hosting us again and on such short notice too !!! Ohh and for digging in your garden for me-- I just love the lime green spiderwort with the electric blue flowers!! Your gardens are very beautiful, it was a pleasure just to be in them. Thank you. Canna, whoops- we never made it to your compost pile did we?? wink,wink ;) Ione, I'm bringing more hosta to the MTPS and between now and then I'm going to look for more of the orange marmalade hosta. I have had 3 'Miss Huff' lantana plants for 5 years (I think). Each fall when the first freeze is expected, I pile pine needles around the base and inbetween the branches close to the crown. I have not lost one yet. 'Miss Huff' is the only one that I know of that is marginally hardy in my area (middle TN). I cut the dead branches back in the spring. They are now blooming profusely and are about 4' tall and at least that wide. My mother lives in the western part of East TN and she had about half of her lantanas survive a couple of winters ago with no protection. Last winter when they had extra mulch, they died. Go figure!!! I have about 20 Knock Out roses and they do fine here in middle TN with no protection. Mine had never lost their leaves until after the big freeze this past spring.

Hey Jen, If you haven't already done so, you might want to go onto the easttnplantswap.com site and sign up for group email. We didn't post announcements on that email group until late this time, but next time, I promise to try to give more warning to people through that method as well as on Gardenweb. That way you can find out about the swap even if you miss it on Gardenweb. Also, check out the exchange forum on that site. You can get hooked up with some really awesome stuff if you ask early. Pretrading usually starts about a month or so before the actual swap, but even if you choose not to arrange pretrades, there's always plenty of neat plants.
