Comments (28)Agree, wait. We’ve had several homes on our street sell in the last two years and all of them have required some unexpected outlay in that time frame for the new owners. It’s not fun to find surprises and even less fun when you’ve spent your money on something else. You don’t know what kind of stewards the previous homeowners were. My friend was having a new kitchen and whole new flooring installed. Two weeks before the kitchen was to go in, they noticed water leaking in their dining room and kitchen from the ceiling. Found out the previous owners cheapened out on the roofing and had to have a new roof installed…8K (this all passed inspection when they purchased 3 years ago). The DAY BEFORE the new floor was to be installed, water came running down the wall from a window during a rainstorm. Found out there was NO FLASHING around the windows and the wooden jambs had rotted. That was less than 2k to fix if i remember correctly. They’ll be replacing all windows soon.
