How are these window treatments attached?
Comments (5)My mother has a very similar treatment we did in her kitchen because she did not have the room for finials and we couldn't find a great endcap style. We used hardware called "connector bolts" I think - found them at Lowe's where they have all their hardware by category. One half is a wall/wood screw and the other half has the threading that cabinetry knobs screw on to. We just put anchors in the wall, screwed these into them, and then screwed on some chunky knobs she had found. We put another set to either side, and use them as hangers for the tiebacks. Don't tell me these knob hangers exist as an -actual thing- somewhere -- I was so dang proud of my "invention"!!! :*)...See MoreNeed help with curtains and rounded windows
Comments (2)I have similar windows, and while I don't have curtains yet, my plan is to put knobs (about 3 each) on either side at the very top of the window and hang full, floor length drapes from these knobs. The curtains won't be working, but they will soften the room. I don't want to put a rod under the arched window b/c I feel it would shorten the window and to put a rod at the top of the arch would compromise the crown moulding. It has been an issue for me, which is why there are no draperies yet in my dining and living rooms, but this is my plan when I finally go for it. Good luck with your decision!...See MoreHelp me find curtains for this window
Comments (11)I am looking for a solution to the same type of window. Ours faces the street and we would like to be able to close at night for privacy when in that room- its an office. I visited the Shade Store yesterday and they make a track rod that mounts to the ceiling and sell panels to work with that rod. Its a transitional look so I don't know if that works for you. The panels do not have pinch pleats at the top so they are not too bulky and should stack on either side of the window without covering too much window space. They will make the track rod custom and angle it to fit inside the bay window. Their panels are custom made and ready in 10 days. The designer there was very helpful but I don't know if they have many locations nationally. https://www.theshadestore.com/drapery/custom-drapes/ripple-fold-drapery...See Morewhere do I find this type of angled window? half vaulted ceiling probs
Comments (5)Skylights (Velux, specifically) are terrific, but don’t add trapezoid-shaped windows! If you want to add a window, add one that matches the style of the rest of the windows in the home (they look like they’re single- or double-hung) and don’t put it up high on the wall. Pretend the ceiling in that room is the same as the rest of the rooms on that level and keep the top of the window frame in line with the tops of the other windows and door in the room. And remove the chair rail! 😉...See Moreanomoley
