GardenWeb on Facebook and Pinterest???
Comments (23)It doesn't look like the FB page is very active. The FB Page was made October 11, 2011; there is one post on Oct 1st of this year. You can bet that the way they'll work it is that they will start taking posts from the various boards & link them on the page. I hope they will not share any posts from any of the conversations forums. Unfortunately; they do not have to ask permission because we gave the right up when we agreed to their terms of service when we joined. Does anyone want to contact the admin to see if conversation posts will be shared there? IMO; it needs to be known for all of our sakes. I don't come here much for the last few months anyway; I really have nothing to hide; but I'd rather not have anything I post to shared on the FB page. IT feels like a violation of privacy. One good thing is the amount of posts lost on this side to forum screw ups. I used to post on rose conversations; there are posts still from 2006!...See MoreIs it my computer or is this site screwed up today????
Comments (6)Thx All... Seems like weird things are happening in our house (and cars ) right now. First, the drywall guys dropped the thermostat while cutting out a wall. That was several wks ago and we are still trying to find the correct part etc etc. Same week the garage door opener just quit working??? Our convert top would not go up this wkend during a terrible storm but, 3 days later is working fine?? The tv is not recording properly. Faucet Direct can't even find my order placed on May 18..altho it says it was to be shipped already??? So, I just thought maybe this computer thing was part of the week from hell LOL All in All the "normal" aspects of our remold job are going well.....:) Slow but good....See MoreGardenWeb needs your feedback!
Comments (35)Hi everyone! You asked and we listened. Today we are very excited to be debuting our newest feature -- post editing! To use this feature, go back to the post you wish to correct and you'll find the link under the 'My Clippings' links on the right side of the page. I want to give a special shout out to all the testers who tried to break the editing tool. ;) Your feedback was insightful and invaluable. Thank you! You may have also noticed that we adjusted the login cookie awhile back so that you should not have to login repeatedly. Stay tuned -- we have more cool things in the works! As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Best regards, Tamara...See MoreWay to screw up a decent plan.
Comments (23)Annette, "Just putting the windows in the garage almost down to ground level confused me." This is a typical field error. Normally a construction document would have wording similar to "SET T/ WINDOW AT @82" ABOVE UNFINISHED FLOOR UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ON THE PLAN". The statement is great it tells framers where to set a header. However garage floor is poured at the grade level, and no way for stock plan designer to know what grade level you will have. In the field a GC will determine the grade level and first floor level when foundation is excavated. The 82" of grade level not equal to 82" off first floor level. - Resulting in garage windows been a foot or two feel lower. Additionally in the pictures, floating gables not built right and/or placed wrong. They should have made them wider to account for corner boards imho. = You have to be very careful with David Wiggins plans. Slightly different finish and they do not look right. There are plenty of examples of La Meilleure vie looking odd and wrong when owner upgraded to brick or straiten the exterior bump outs, or boxed the roof eaves like in your picture. These plans are not for subdivision, they will not fit the common look and feel of a subdivision and most likely will not comply with the covenant. Examples are tudor (dark) style trim, vertical siding, large window frames - like in the plan will never pass,...See Morewindymess z6a KC, Ks
