Fun2BHere, copper gutters are like diamonds, they go with everything lol! Lily'sMom, I know what you mean about matching gutters giving a "crown molding" look. On our house, the exposed fascia is about the same height as the gutters, so making them the same color would really look substantial. Right now, the gutters kind of match the roof, which is fine. Sounds like I can do almost anything, darn it. One of the painters under consideration did a neighbor's house and picked the colors, and it looks really nice. We talked about my options, and he has a different vision than I do, but his was something I hadn't even thought of, and it sounds pretty good but I need to play around with ColorViewer or Paint to visualize it. Another guy has a color consultant he works with. More estimates to come, so we will see what they say.

Hey there jessep! New Berlin - small world! I I think you are definitely right about keeping the soffit light because it is over two feet wide. I'm still stuck on the idea of chestnut bronze for the fascia, gutters & windows. Leaving the soffit white (alabaster) would also allow me to leave the garage door white because I definitely don't want to paint or replace that since it's in good shape. The roof is brown and what's worse that it's got kind of a mahogany/violet undertone. I would much prefer one the color of the example picture. I will also take your advice regarding large color samples to help us make any decisions easier. Thanks for that! I was talking with another friend this weekend who said that he thought I should stay away from a black facia because it may fade and get ashy looking. To replace the barn red maybe we'll try matching the color of our brick to help make the house look all-brick? I don't know...

I hired a carpenter to make wooden storms for a rental property (because I wanted to replicate the mid century muntin pattern of the windows). Then I took them to a glass shop for the glass, and then I painted them. They were not too expensive, and if you use a rot-resistant wood (like cedar or Douglas fir) and maintain the paint, they should last for a long time. You could even make them yourself if you are at all handy.

The soffit on the house is already installed and is bronze vinyl to match the windows. We think the Hardie board on the garage will be SW Loggia to blend in with the garage doors that are desert tan.
