Best warm neutral Gray or Greige paint?
Comments (48)@Lori A. Sawaya I really have to thank you. Your questioning why the builder is so strict about only using SW colors motivated me to ask again. I explained that SW has the color-match formulas in their system, nationwide, etc. The home builder salesman I had been dealing with had never had anyone ask to color match & investigated further. I can color match! Also, I did get a SW sample of Behr Silver Drop. I had asked for a quart in a flat finish as that is what the builder will paint with. Miscommunication & I ended up with a jug of Silver Drop in the SW satin sample paint & a can of Silver Drop in a SW (Superpaint) flat finish. Three drywall boards of Silver Drop & 3 different colors. The salesman at SW had told me that the lighter color samples that use Extra White as the base are usually very slightly lighter than the regular paint. I'm going to continue my search & check out BM colors. I so enjoy your posts. We are very lucky that you so generously share your knowledge & expertise....See MoreGreige experts/fans:Why do my greige paint colors look icky at ni
Comments (4)patty cakes-I went through so many samples and spent so much money. When I saw a huge portion of my wall painted with camouflage I thought it looked great! Silver, gold, black, and white frames all looked lovely with the color. It's gray yet green and also a bit "warm". It just looks yucky at night in my dining room so perhaps it's just the type of lighting. Anyhow, my point is that I thought I did a great job of weeding out the one's I din't like. Oh well Palimpsest-you're right about lighting! Camouflage looks pea green in my kitchen which has recessed halogen lighting, and looks more gray/green in the other rooms (well at night it looks muddy in my dining room). Changing out the light in my sons room was what I was thinking I should try so thank you for confirming that!...See MoreLooking for a warm beige, light tan, or greige but
Comments (13)My favorite color ever in this family is Kangaroo by BM having said that-no idea how would look in your space. will it read a bit purple? it might. a bit green? it might. will it be just a great enveloping taupe-verging greige sometimes? it might it's a small basement with one window. you need to try first. no color will behave the same everywhere. they change throughout the day several times in one room..especially complicated neutrals do. I love nosoccermom's idea going dark, if the room gets mostly evening use..you kinda challenge the room but let it be what it is too. might be fabulous with added whites/lights, mirrors, bright art, lamps.....See MorePlease help! Comments (3)Exactly. We found a countertop that we loved that shared the same greige colour as some of the tiles on the existing backsplash... I would have loved to stay in the neutrals, but I'll have an open mind and look into sage greens as well. Thanks for the comment!...See MoreRelated Professionals
