Comments (11)We received a foot of snow today. I am wondering why drivers think that they can make left turns from the right lane and why they can run red lights in the snow. This afternoon, we had an accident (intentional) happen in part of our yard. We live in a cul-de-sac and between our house and the neighbors is a sidewalk that leads to a private park behind our house. Each year we both put Christmas lights on both sides of the walkway. An eighteen year old female new driver drove down our street very fast and decided that the walkway was a street. She ended up about 100 ft in the park. She didn't touch the neighbor's yard or lights, but wiped out all our lights and drove in our yard since the walkway was only about 3 ft wide. It is a good thing I wasn't home because I would have given her a piece of my mind. I did hear that another of our neighbors did yell at her a bit. The good thing is nobody got hurt and we can repair her damage easily. If she was my kid she would be cleaning it up. Tomorrow will be a better day. Happy holidays everyone!...See MoreHo Ho Hum
Comments (3)Oh good, I have the blessing part down, it's the spirit I'm lacking, LOL* I was thinking the same thing Westelle, if I can manage to get lights on it, the grands will both be here today, they can decorate it:) I think that counts, that's one more than I've done, so yes. Grandgirl gets to invite one person to her Christmas play in Kindergarten on Friday, when asked who she told her Mom she wanted me:) This went over well with exDIL... But I have my blessings down Pat, that would include my health, my husband's, my folks, my siblings, my children and all my beautiful grandchildren:) I just wish it wasn't so expensive. My sister doesn't have kids, so she's borrowing my grandchildren to give presents to. Well 6 of the 7, the youngest ones here in CA. 4 of them don't even remember who she is. That's very nice of her to do. That's a spirit of giving and a pass it on thing we do. She has a student nurse in her class that is very poor and she made a secret Santa gift to her of $100. This gal cried. She lives on $600 a month trying to go to nursing school and has 2 kids. I picked the young gal who cuts my hair to give mine to. She cried too. I remember what it's like to be young and broke. I know what it's like to be old and broke, LOL* My Sis and I have been doing this for years. She usually has more money than I do, sometimes I help someone with something else. Pass on the kindness, pass on the money to someone and hoping they will remember and pass it on themselves one day also. I don't say this very well. Not everyone will but these people still have memories of kindness, an unexpected act who knows how this touches them?? Circles in circles. Have you ever had a full basket or cart at the store and let someone from behind you with just a couple of things go in front of you? Expressions can range from astonishment to gratefulness to sometimes nothing at all. But, that's an act of kindness and touches someone:) Especially if they're behind me at the grocery store, I usually have 2 weeks of groceries in my cart, LOL* sorry, wandered off there. Comments (11)Hi Ladies, I've been so busy, sorry. My son came over with the kids one night and strong armed into getting the tree done. Today alone I've been to the Dr here, to another town to the eye doc to pick up new glasses, then go to the mall to get another movie gift cert for my dad for the one I lost, clean house, wash clothes I'm up baking cookies to take to the kids in Modesto tomorrow and oh, I was up to 2am wrapping gifts last night. Stressed?? Not me, I'm still not done in the house and my folks are coming on Sun, we'll be back Sat and I don't have the grocery shopping done yet nor any other baking, but hey it's Christmas and I think I have all the Christmas gifts bought, again and all but 3 are wrapped. So far I've also made about 13 stepping stones and one 15" cement plant stake made since the first of Nov as gifts. The last 4 just came out of the molds last night and I got to clean up my dining room today and put away all the mess. I haven't seen my dining room table in months or my kitchen counter, LOL* The stones have just enough time to dry before Christmas to give as gifts. Course the recipients can't put them outside for another month because of frost. I didn't take a breath with that because that's how I feel!:) I'm with you Westelle on the catalogs, I think I got at least 5 a day. I stacked them all on the coffee table until they towered and my DH threatened me with a fate and I passed them off on future DIL and threw the rest away. What a waste of paper. Very nice Christmas present on the wine fridge though, great boss:) I used to spray Endust on my Mom's duster and do her floors with it, you had to watch out when you came through with socks on if you were hurrying:) Wow Brenda, DH wrapped his own gifts?? I've had my DH wrap the kids gifts before, they don't look good, gotta tell you. Now that the grandkids are older, that's why I stayed up late to do them, LOL* I made lots of glittery ribbons too:) I agree on the popping material, DH loves to pop those too. Hello Pat if you're out there, hope you're just caught up in things too and feeling ok:) I'll be in and out and around H99, if I miss you all, I wish you a Merry Christmas, no matter the Ho Hum:) Leslie...See MoreUPDATE: Memorial Day Secret Swap What Did You Get
Comments (73)I emailed indyjoys partner and she was having a problem getting her package out right now. She asured me that she would send one though. Sorry I haven't been on lately as I am looking for a new job. Anyone need a Nurses Assistant in the Baraboo WI area? Sorry to the two gals who have not recieved a package. I will email Indyjoy's partner again. I understand that we all have things going on but we need to make sure we take care of trades as many people may not want to continue trading on here if they get stiffed too much. Carmen sorry that we had a name mix up I will take credit for that but it sounds like your package is on the way....and if it is even half as good as mine you will be very happy. Indyjoy if you do not get your package by next weekend let me know and I will send you one. I just found the best place to get plants and its been under my nose the entire time. A laddy near me sells plants from her house. She digs them up and puts them into plastic bags and sells them for next to nothing. I bought a hibiscus for a dollar! Who ho! I hope everyone that got their packages are happy with them! Indyjoy let me know by next Saturday ok? Just shoot me an e-mail....See MoreCori Ann - H0uzz violated my privacy
