I got a sample of the Silver Fox after seeing this and the Brooklyn Limestone pictures. When I painted it, it looked perfect. Almost.............got in the car to go buy. But if there's anything I've learned from my mistakes, it's to start with chips, move on to the samples of your true love favorites, put the sample in two places, a low-light and a good light, let dry, then, come back The next day and decide. Good thing I waited. Silver Fox has the right depth I'm looking for, looks good in many of the photos I've seen, and could certainly be perceived as warm. But in my space, there is just that trace of purple that takes it out of the running. And I have some new natural color drapes that I am definitely using---not enough of the right kind of contrast with the drape fabric. This is he new garage door - those shrubs are being removed Monday, and once our water wise rebate is approved we can start new landscaping in place of the "lawn". Pinkmountain the walkway doesn't actually narrow but I agree the fact that it is narrower than and not aligned with the entryway "porch" is annoying. If we create a new front door though, we'd likely put a sidelight there or siding, so it would notnlook so strange. We are getting quotes for this now. If anyone has photoshop and could take a stab at a mockup I'd love it - I am only using my phone while nursing baby right now :) current resident, the previous owner was the son of the guy who built the house and there were some DIY changes done but most of this stuff was actually original including the garage door made of plywood over a metal frame. We are not sure when they decided to set the tub in 100 gallons of dirt/backfill (not mortar or sand). The original kitchen and layout are far from MCM it's more of a ranch than modern - no open floor plan or modern original features.but we are trying to move toward a bit more simple/contemporary look. We've had to put a lot of cash into the the house on vital things like completely new roof (tore off 3 layers of shingles and replaced all the sheathing) re-piping (corroded galvanized steel pipes) and so on... not a lot left over for aesthetics now. Some updates will have to be done over time. Where should I mount new house numbers? We currently have 2 locations one by the window and one beside the garage, we will remove those before painting and get new numbers. Would this style light be appropriate for the house? I like the idea of black door hardware and lighting too.

Colors do not show true on a computer monitor so some here may be seeing different tones and hues then in reality. I would get a few sample size jars of paint and paint some large size pieces of foam board. Set them around the counters and cabinets in different lighting and observe at different times of the day. Lowes carries Sherwin Williams paints in sample sizes for about $3.50. I tend to like a bit of color. I believe the color in this pic is SW Rainwashed - which is a gray with a green undertone. SW Sea Salt is similar and looks gray on the paint chip, but has a green undertone that I think is calming and less drab then a totally gray / white kitchen. Both colors can appear different in different kitchens - so the need for the painted foam board test. The cabinetry, counters and flooring are similar to yours:

Have you looked at BM Edgecomb Gray? I had a problem with BM Balboa Mist and SW Agreeable Gray going too blue in my house. Edgecomb Gray is a light warm gray. Sometimes it looks light gray, greige, beige or a light mushroom, depending on the room or time of day. It's a neutral that has worked well in all areas for me. Of course, your home may be totally different though.
