Washing Performance of Speed Queen FL
Comments (23)Seems to use a reasonable amount of water, as you can always see it sloshing around in the drum. Every so often, there are some fabrics or items that seem to retain the detergent suds more than other loads. Then it is a simple matter to flip the "extra rinse" switch on. For a bulky sleeping bag, for instance, we've learned to use the extra rinse, since we don't like any detergent perfumes to remain in the bag. The machine controls are so basic, however, that you must remember to flip the "extra rinse" option off for the next load as it does not reset to a "default" off setting. To counter that, we developed the habit of scanning ALL the control settings (as in all three; big deal) prior to walking away from the machine. Simple, but effective....See MoreSpeed Queen FL vs Maytag Bravo vs Electrolux
Comments (17)I did a lot of research on Speed Queen before I bought Maytag Bravos, including reading reviews SQ owners had posted at various websites. Lsck of capacity was not the only reason I felt SQ would not meet my needs. Lack of spin speed was another, and at least one reviewer complained about plastic parts. IMO, SQ is also over-priced. A previous poster is very mistaken in his/her comment about HE toploaders, particularly concerning Maytag Bravos. Laundry DOES move while it washes, and our comforters (including a king-size comforter) come out very clean and fresh after being washed. If one hasn't actually owned and used an HE toploader, s/he can't give an experienced review. Also -- all HE toploaders are not equal, another thing non-owners may not realize. Friends and relatives who have Oasis, Cabrio, and GE's HE toploader have reported problems I have not had with my Bravos washer. Comments (3)The dispenser works by holding the softener in the cup until it's flushed by diverting part of the rinse-fill water flow into the cup to overflow it, then (most) of the residual water is siphoned out. Filling the cup too full or jostling it when closing the dispenser can cause premature siphoning....See MoreSpeed Queen TL vs FL
Comments (16)Thank you Practigal, right now I'm not buying at all...a BOL Miele is on my list to research, a lot of factors have to be concidered and service plays a huge roll. And I wonder if a BOL Miele would be any better than a TOL machine that would still probably be less expensive. But right now I'm not even researching. I need to get my Queens and my frig paid off first. I hear a lot of good about Miele but I hear bad also same goes with all brands, as long as my machine continues working I won't be buying until summer...that's when I will start extensive research lol..Thank you much...See Moremrb6228
