coarse gravel paths?
Comments (20)We have crusher run in the driveway and a concrete paver walkway to the front door about 12' long. Gravel sometimes sticks in shoe treads, and the crusher run still manages to migrate a bit into the house, though since we have outdoor and indoor mats to wipe shoes on and take off shoes at the kitchen door, it's not bad. I can't image anything on earth that would convince me it's a good idea to have gravel of any size as walkways in my veggie garden. It migrates, it's uncomfortable to walk on regardless of size if barefoot and larger sizes are uncomfortable even with shoes, and if you change your mind at some point in the future it's a royal pain to move or remove. I've had veggie gardens for more than 40 years (both raised bed and not), and my paths either had bare earth (quick and easy to maintain with a stirrup hoe AKA scuffle hoe) or an organic mulch such as wood shavings or bark mulch usually underlain with unprinted cardboard. I could see using large sized (24" x 24" or 18" x18") pavers to make walkways as they could be relatively quickly shifted if you wanted to change path layouts....See MoreQuestions on Sanding Soapstone
Comments (16)oldryder, I use Dorado Dry wax, as recommended by my fabricator. I must say, I've never had SS before, but I have loved this. It was installed about 15 months ago, and the only time I've had to re-wax was in the areas where there were small scratches and I went over them with a little dry wax to blend in. Until now when I needed to go over the area I sanded. The rest of the counters still look great....See Morequestion for Mairin about Crown Point Sand(BM) or anyone else!
Comments (7)Thank you for asking and showing interest! The house will be done in 3 weeks, but weather hasn't cooperated so we don't have a driveway or walkway. We'll likely wait to move after that - I can't imagine putting the galloshes on myself and the kids to leave every day!! I was kind of holding out on more pics for the kitchen for the big 'reveal' (hee hee), but I'll show you since you asked! Do post pics of whatever your choice is - either color would look so nice with CE (just a stunning peice of stone!!) Really messy, but shows the lights going up!...See MoreCan sm rocks be sub. for coarse grit in tumbler?
Comments (4)That is too funny!!! I just got done asking myself the same thing!!! I am making green beach glass and the frosty looking white (for a Christmas project!!!) and I had sand left from some cement bowls I had made so I added that!!! Here is another question I had. To make the frosty glass (this may sound dumb!!!!) do you use clear glass and just tumble it until its so scratched up it looks frosted? OR are you using a white opaque glass? I think I remember Nice saying they had to tumble for about 4 days? Mine have been tumbling for 24 hours. Oh and my belt on my tumbler broke (sound familiar Klinger!!!!???) luckily I had a spare!! Hopefully that don't break!!...See MoreShannon Brianna
