Claudia -- sorry for your bad experience with Rockspray. They do have new owners since I last ordered from them 2 years ago. I dealt with the company when it was owned by Kate Herrick. I put in several orders and never had a problem and they always responded to questions. One time they gladly replaced a heather that was in poor shape on arrival. They told me to plant it and they would send a replacement. I had wondered what it would be like dealing with the new owners. I hope this is an isolated incident. If anyone deals with them this year can you post your experience - good or bad?

Heaths and heathers - Ericas and Callunas - are woody based subshrubs and cannot be divided. Although sometimes low lying branches can root into the soil and then be cut away - roots intact - from the mother plant and replanted elsewhere.

Nancy , thank you so much for taking the time to let me know how your plant has performed. I think, I will try moving it and see what happens. Although in full sun right now the spot where it is planted is not that rich a soil which may be a concern . Some daylilies do well where it is but I guess it is like anything else .......not everything or everyone performs well in the same circumstances. I know the seller sent it to me because she found it didn't like being in a zone 4 . I will give it a reprieve and transplant to a richer soil and give it one more chance . I appreciate your experience and your time to let me know how yours has performed.

Sorry to tell you but heather is not suited to life indoors. It’s a hardy subshrub that needs to be outdoors in full sunlight in a cool climate. However, the flowers will not stay pink even in optimum conditions. They naturally age and brown. The ‘fern’ is actually a form of asparagus, A setaceous, and needs bright but indirect light and good humidity.
