Comments (58)Good morning squirrel! You guys really helped to clear the fog and now I'm so excited to keep this project going. This weekend I'm off to the paint stores to get samples and poster board.I will then do what Caroleoh and post for you guys to see. Before painting the room, I want to wait for the rug to be delivered so that I can see everything "live" and then we will be on our way! To save money, DH and I are going to do this ourselves so when we get to that point, I am going to ask all you GW'ers to send good vibes our way, cuz we haven't painted anything in years. We always hired out but with DS in college, we are back to grassroots!...See MoreI need help from you fabric gurus...
Comments (6)Please check out this previous post - Back tracking - finally chose val. & drape, need new wall paint by janepa. A search of janepa will find it quickly. I was hunting fabric for my dining area and found this valance at my local Boscov's. (The print is called Glenboro and you can do a search to find the website of the vendor. If you have a problem let me know and I will get the website for you. I am at work now and have limited time.) All they had for sale was this valance. I since have found this floral print on the web in 2 other styles of valances without the check under layer and also in 84" panels. The colors on my post are brighter than the actual fabric is in person. I love it and if I cannot find fabric by the yard I am going to probably buy the panels to use as possibly dining room chair back covers, place mats or runners etc., along with some of the green check. I will be posting a photo soon of the dining area with the new window treatment. Good luck. Jane...See MoreDining Room Chair Fabric
Comments (34)The fennell fabric is very pretty. Are you going to add some green accessories to your room to coordinate with the fabric? Right now, it looks like you have gold walls, brown drapes, and the light blue on your corner cabinet. I wonder if you might want to consider something with some gold in it? If Calico Corners is near you, why not swing by and ask for a large swatch. The CCs near me are so great about giving out swatches. Then you can see it against the wood and in the lighting of your dining room. I do that with all my fabrics before I commit to buying them. I would also recommend spraying the fabric with Scotchquard before attaching the seats back onto the chairs (test a sample first to make sure nothing happens to it)....See MoreSquirrel: Would you Help with with a Photoshop?
Comments (19)Love the yellow. As for the pillow size, I'd do the 14x20 so that you can see all of the embroidered animals on the pillow front. WIth the 16x16 you'd loose either the bunnies or the animal to the right. Even though you did not pay the $250/yd. price, the fact it is worth this amount definitely means you should not cut anything out. I would think you may even want to do a custom size to showcase the fabric to best advantage--even if you need to custom make the pillow insert, which I think would be easy enough to downsize a larger sized insert. Another option could be to do a larger square sized center pillow (like 20x20 or even as large as 24x24) for your sofa so that it's more a focal point (and use a contrasting fabric for the backside if you need to). The contrasting fabric could then be used to make two smaller pillows to either side of the sofa. The ones you have now are very pretty, but you could always rotate them seasonally for different looks....See Moresunfeather
